Initially I was very pleased with this little coffee maker. But after only 5 months it has stopped working; I've tried using vinegar and baking soda/water to clean it but to no avail. Most of the water just remains in the reservoir as it bubbles and spurts. So I'm very disappointed and will not be buying a product from this company again.

This little coffee maker is perfect for me...years ago my brother gave me a Kuerig...I wasn't comfortable with there being water left inside a container where I couldn't see or know if anything was growing inside. I'm the only one drinking coffee and someday I would only have a cup or two but still had to constantly add more water. I have cleaned it with water and vinegar through the system a couple of times but how do you really know if it's clean if it's hidden from view and I shouldn't have to disassemble it to make sure. I live in an older house and I'm sure mold and mildew are in hidden places and I didn't want it in my coffee. So when I researched the single serve coffee makers, read the reviews and decided on the AdirChef Grab N' Go...I love the blue color and it took no time to get here. In the reviews a few people said the water wasn't as hot as the more expensive brand name Kuerig. My coffee from AdirChef is hotter than I've ever had and I use filtered cold water from the fridge...the cup is great, the perfect amount and I leave the top off till the coffee cools off some and then when I use it the coffee stays the perfect temperature. It's so easy, use your own coffee blend to the provided reusable filter, no expensive pods to buy, you make it stronger or weaker depending on how much coffee you use. I add cold filtered water to the cup, pour it in, set the cup under the pour spout, push the button once and right away you hear it heating up...I wait till the light goes off and there's no more water pouring into the cup.
I always put a spare cup in its place so it'll catch any little drips...no big deal. The coffee is hot and delicious, just the way I like it. When I'm done, and the unit has cooled, I open the lid to let it dry on its own. Take the filter and it's holder, dump the coffee grounds in the trash, rinse or wash and let it air dry. Now I'm positive all I had was a great cup of coffee with no invisible slimy water. So if your not comfortable with the water coming out of your machine and want something were you are positive you're only getting clean water every time and you notice how much better the coffee tastes... the AdirChef is what you want.

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

This is the first time I have written a review like this. Do not order this coffee maker. IT IS AWFUL. The packaging is minimal and there were broken bits if plastic in the box. I’m a long time customer of Amazon and this is the worst product I have ever received. First, it came cracked. It was cheap so I’m gonna use it until I can replace it. It looks like something for a child’s play kitchen, quality wise. I believe that a manufacture should be concerned about quality control. This company obviously doesn’t. I purchased this because of the 3,300+ reviews. Can’t imagine anyone giving this coffee maker a decent review. PERIOD.

DO NOT BUY! You WILL regret it!

I bought this single serving coffee maker to take to work and use. When I got it I could not get the button to turn on, click or engage to even start the coffee maker. I sent it back to get it replaced with a working one. I just received the new one and plugged it in and the button was already on and the top of the coffee maker was all scratched and had smudges on it as if it had already been used. Since the button was already on when I plugged it in, I knew something was wrong with it too. I tried to press the button to turn it off and it would click but not turn off. I worked on it for about 5 minutes and could not get the button to turn off so I had to unplug it! I plugged it back in hoping it would reset the button, but it was still on and I again tried to turn it off multiple times! This definitely is not worth $23, it's not even worth $2! Don't waste your time or money! I guess I will have to return this one too! Very disappointed and it's ridiculous I've had to waste all my time on this! I mean, come on, two coffee makers BOTH with power button problems?? I can't be the only one that has bought this and had this happen!

The only reason I purchased this product was for when I travel. And for that purpose, this product is awesome!
I really dislike any hotels house coffee or the K-cup room coffee, so I decided to start bringing my own. This product is lightweight and compact so it doesn't take up much room when I travel. It also makes the perfect amount to fill my coffee needs in the morning.
The reason I gave it a 4 star was because of 2 things. First I don't care for the reusable filter. Initially I thought it would be cool and save me on paper filters but I feel it strains too fast. I noticed that the coffee was a bit watered down using the reusable filter, but once I switched it out for a common paper filter the flavor came back.
The second thing I personally don't care for is the plastic internally in the mug. At a glance the mug looks completely stainless but it has a plastic inside. The quality is good I just prefer a completely stainless coffee mug since it keeps my coffee hotter for a longer period of time. It's not a big deal just personal preference. I still feel the whole set is well worth the $. The coffee maker itself is worth the $ aside from the mug. I really like that you can essentially use any coffee mug that fits underneath the unit.
It brews coffee pretty fast but if you want to make s second cup you do need to wait a few minutes in between brews. The machine does have an internal thermal switch that will shut the unit down if it gets too hot.
Ultimately I would definitely buy this unit again. You just can't put a price on your favorite blend of coffee brewed wherever you go.

Nice little one cup coffee maker. UPDATE: started failing after 6 months

This coffee maker is fairly quick and makes a good cup of coffee within minutes. I am the only one who drinks coffee in this house so it is perfect for me to quickly get my morning cup! I do use a paper filter (even though they want you to use the included screen filter) and I have had no problems through numerous cups. For the price this is a great little appliance.

UPDATE: I have reduced my overall rating because I have had this coffee maker a little over six months and it is beginning to fail. It now will not process all of the water in the reservoir. Also do not care for the travel mug as the lip is too thick to drink comfortably from.
20181119_UPDATE: Even though I have reduced the rating and had planned to toss the maker, I decided to clean it first with a Lime Away product for cleaning coffee pots. This did the trick!!! The machine is now back to normal and processes all of the water from the reservoir, yay! Clearly, this needs to be cleaned occasionally.

Does a simple job, but has a few inconveniences

The coffee maker makes a cup of coffee just fine. Nothing fancy. Nothing poor. It makes 1 serving at a time based on however much water you put in the reservoir.

The bad:
1. almost no other cup or mugs fit beneath the spout except the one that comes with the maker. Regular cups will sit too low, so coffee splatters all over and you need to raise it the cup with something if you want to fill up a regular cup or mug. Other tumblers won't fit either, so if you don't have the original tumbler on hand, you need to fill up a raised mug and then pour it into another tumbler.
2. the spout that pours the hot water over the grinds shoots the water out pretty hard, so if you use a lot of coffee grounds, it'll spread coffee all over the spout and into the water reservoir, making it difficult to clean.

Great for the price, could use some improvements

It's been a while since I've drank coffee. However, has a single mom with little munchkin to chase around in the morning, I decided to get a single use coffee maker to have a cup in the morning to get me going. This little coffee maker seems to have its pros and cons.

Pros: It is compact, it brews quickly, it's incredibly affordable, it has easy to see step like markers for three different ounce amounts in the water compartment, it fits a variety of different regular coffee mug sizes and has a wide base so you're not restricted to using travel mug and can even use wide based ceramic mugs.

Cons: The cord is not very long, when brewing grounds stick to the top of the steaming/heating apparatus, the filter itself according to the instructions is not dishwasher safe and must be hand cleaned, the instruction state to use four tablespoons of regular ground coffee however the filter itself has a max line that is met after two tablespoons, the mug does not keep coffee warm for long and was in an hour its barely lukewarm being that the mug is metal you can't put it in the microwave to warm up your coffee, even after waiting 3 minutes when I opened the coffee maker it spewed hot steam at me, the mug does not seem like it will last long and I have already ordered replacements, the coffee almost had a burnt taste to me as if the water was overheated and scorched the grounds (however, I have not drank hot coffee more than a couple of times within the last several years so that may just be my taste buds still adjusting to the flavor of hot coffee, again)

**Side note: I have read a lot of reviews complaining about water pooling at the bottom of the cup holder for the coffee maker, after a few days to a week of use. Here's the solution, that worked for me. Clean the coffee maker. Take a towel/rag and wipe off the part of the coffee maker that sits just above the cup. Condensation builds up on the underneath side between the cup and the coffee maker. When not wiped up, it dries. However, when you use the coffee maker again it continues to layer, like it does on windows. That, generally leads to the small puddle of cool water you find after making a cup of coffee and not wiping the underside of the coffee maker for a few days. I hope that is helpful.

I was so tired of buying small coffee makers with burners that got scratched and started to fall apart. This one is perfect for what I need. Simple design, coffee is quickly brewed. I gave the first one to my husband, and I bought the red one for myself. Surprisingly, the coffee does not stain the inside of the red cup, but then, I rinse it out as soon as I'm done. I haven't had either one for more than a year, so I can't tell how long it will last. But for the price and convenience (not to mention attractiveness) I'm very happy with it.

July15, 2021 update

After buying our second Adirchef, it stopped working properly after 8 months. Water was staying in the reservoir instead of filling the cup. One day, all of the water stayed in the reservoir after brewing. The Amazon warranty had expired, but the company’s warranty is one year. I contacted the seller who refunded my money and apologized. Great customer service! Our other Adirchef, which we’ve had over a year, is mostly still working. It sometimes leaves some water in the reservoir. One way to look at it is, since the price is right and it’s convenient, it only costs $1.83/mo.
