A lite somewhat salty Shoyu sauce

A good, reasonably priced Shoyu Soy sauce, greta over rice with a couple easy over eggs on top. I use an 8.8 oz bag of Ben's Original Ready Rice, put a moderate amount of the sauce on it, and put few slices of cucumber or avocado on the plate.

It is a Japanese soy sauce actually, and maybe it is more often used as dipping material. So I find it not suitable for my cooking meals. However it still tastes good.

We lived in Hawaii for a good number of years, and there, they use shoyu on everything. Good shoyu can make or break a dish, especially something that relies on it for most of the flavor...seared ahi, white rice, etc. I was so pleasantly surprised at the flavor of 365, especially since it's really reasonably priced. Some of the best shoyu I've had, and I've had tons of different ones, even Japanese, Hawaiian, etc. This is probably the only one I'll buy as long as I can get it.

Coming from an Asian background, I know that there are different quality soy sauces. There's the one you keep for guests, the one you put on the table, the one for cooking, and that fake stuff that comes in tear-open packets. The flavor of this is really enjoyable. A bit smoky, a bit malty, appropriate saltiness. Hard to explain, but it's quite distinct. I do cook with this, but only for more delicate vegetables (it's just too expensive to use for general cooking). As a base for other sauces, it's excellent (e.g., I use it for cucumber dishes among others).
