5.0 out of 5 starsNot a hard core baker, but works well thus far, holding up well, know the smoke point of oils

I purchased these about 5 months ago, but I am not a hard core / heavy user. On the other hand the baker we replaced (aluminum) had lots of burnt on oil and crud, which could not be cleaned in spite of steel pads. These pans are a dark gray with orange silicone handles in a 5-piece set. The handles are ~ 3/4" x 3", with Rachel Ray inscribed on them, maybe they provide a little contour to not be so slippery, the color matches other RR product colors. The non-stick coating is inside and out. Product info says oven safe to 500 Fahrenheit. The set includes 2 x 9-inch rounds that are ~2" deep (pie pans), 1 x 9-inch by 13-inch rectangle (~2" deep) , 1 - 10x15-inch cookie sheet (~1" deep), and 9-inch by 5-inch deep rectangle (bread pan). I added the depths as I didn't see them in the product info.
Again not a heavy user. Probably at least weekly roasting of veggies or heating frozen foods, like potatoes, at about 450 degrees. I lightly oil using a silicone brush to not cut/scratch the non-stick coating. I have tried not to get oil on the orange silicone handles and clean them off should oil get on them prior to baking. I have not had problems with the orange handles looking dirty or getting slippery. The silicone handles provide a good grip to load the oven and a good grip in my experience to take the pans out of the oven when done baking.
I think one thing to keep in mind when baking is the "smoke point" of cooking oils. This may be a problem that other reviewers might of had. I attached a pic of the smoke-point of various oils, just a few examples is avocado at 520 drees, butter at 302, corn at 352, olive oil ~400, safflower (unrefined) at 225, etc.. So if you are cooking at a temp that exceeds the smoke-point of your oil, you will be likely burning oil on the non-stick coating, then stressing the coating in the cleaning, then repeating the stressing process of the coating. I have blackened some oil on the coating and thus far it has cleaned of well with a teflon friendly scum pad.
Overall pleased with the pans, thus far. Need more use. Will report back with more experience.
