Should call it garlic flour

It sprinkles out like flour and even dissolves when landing on a liquid or olive oil coated meat. Not the normal grainy like garlic powder or salt, this is very fine ground. But a considerable amount for the money when comparing to buying little glass jars over and over. Now I am just refilling my last glass jar from the big bag this comes in.

Anyone who has eaten real garlic knows how strong it is. I dipped my finger to test the quality and it should have been stronger, more overpowering. This has obviously been fluffed up with filler like flour. Whenever there are no ingredients listed on the package it is presumed it's 100% that product. This however, is not 100% garlic powder and should be required to inform the customer as such. I'm starting to reconsider spending my money on Amazon, entirely. If Amazon has too many products to keep track of quality, then local stores are the best way to go. Cost me $10, awesome if it were real. I'd rather spend $20 on something I can trust.

I got this Naturevibe Botanicals - Organic Garlic Ground Powder because, since I eat & live organic (and follow a Keto//LCHF [low-carb, high-fat]/Paleo/Primal diet) as much as possible, when I was replenishing my supply of garlic powder and other staple spices & herbs, I decided that instead of getting the conventional/regular (non-organic version) from regular stores like I'd done for years (before joining warehouse clubs like Sam's Club and later Costco) or getting it in bulk from Costco like I'd done before "going organic" and then getting it organic, in tiny jars, like I'd done previously I'd get it organic, in bulk from Amazon instead.

But when I looked for organic garlic powder on Amazon, there were very few choices (at least at that time -- now there seems to be more options) for organic garlic powder in bulk quantity and most of the listings for organic garlic powder were for small (2 oz or so) jars, and NOT the larger amounts in a bag to refill my own garlic powder jar with a shaker top, in my spice rack set that I was looking for.

So since, at that time, this Naturevibe Botanicals - Organic Garlic Ground Powder was the cheapest and most cost-efficient ("bang for the buck") in terms of amount/unit price, I thought it was better than spending the same or slightly less for a much smaller amount, and I got this garlic powder.

Unfortunately, pretty much from the moment I opened this bag to refill my garlic powder shaker jar, I've regretted getting this garlic powder. Because like reviewer Amy Biddle said in her review of this product on March 12, 2018 (unfortunately, several months after I'd bought it on November 19, 2017) that this garlic powder "is pulverized garlic powder, more like dust and not like the granulated that I was used to" and I had the same disappointing as well as infuriating experience (not only because of all the mess it made when trying to refill the jar and using it but also because of the vast amounts of "garlic dust" getting wasted needlessly) with this product.

If that's not bad enough, because this garlic powder was ground so finely, literally "pulverized" as Amy Biddle said, there wasn't much (if any!) noticeable garlic taste with this garlic powder as there is with the more coarsely ground granulated garlic powders (regardless of brands -- including organic) that I've been using for YEARS.

I am very dissatisfied with this garlic powder. It is way, WAY too powdery and when I was trying to refill my garlic powder jar, the "garlic dust" was falling EVERYWHERE -- on the sides of the jar, all over the kitchen counter, all over ME, and it was such a headache and waste of garlic powder that I ended up only filling the jar less than 1/4 full, before giving up, and don't know what to do with the rest of it. Because I don't know how I can even use it, when even just OPENING the bag sends garlic powder dust flying EVERYWHERE!

Although I'm going to buy organic garlic powder again (I have to -- I can't keep either using fresh garlic for everything [because though, of course fresh is better, using fresh ALL the time for everything has its own hassles] or omitting garlic or trying to substitute other stuff just because of this crappy product) I definitely will NOT be buying this brand!!

I don't know...to me, it seems like it has some type of a filler in it. doesn't smell or taste like pure garlic powder. It smells like bentonite clay with garlic powder mixed in it. sketchy product, very disappointed.

It comes in a foil bag, very nice, if you like things fresh. I don't trust plastic bottles, jars or bags because they leech flavor and freshness. Anyway, I only have the old standby, McC to go by, but this G P REALLY IS powder (check out my pic). The lb could disappear in a not-brisk breeze. I mean, you could puff it on if you wanted to smell like, well, you know. I just think McC has a more granular composite. Ahh, and the big inhale, nose at the ready. Yeah, it's G P, but not as inducing as expected. I'm gonna try it though in my next spajetti. I'll add to this if it outperforms.

Update. I put some on my desk to shoot. I don't know...looks like a proud company, that airtight foil bag, but it really has little aroma, has a disgusting consistency in a culinary sorta way, and I can't imagine the need to pulp it down this far. It's going back.

Should have read the reviews, so that's my fault... this is pulverized garlic powder, more like dust and not like the granulated that I was used to. Very little flavor, and hardly even any garlic smell as I am using it in cooking. Not a fan. In the favor of the product/seller -- the powder is clean, consistent in quality and well packaged. Otherwise this would be a one-star.

I'm not saying I've bought every garlic powder out there, but in all the years I have been cooking, I have never bought garlic powder that is brown and doesn't smell like garlic. I thought it was just me and then read the other reviews. How can companies get away with selling false items? It's disgusting that folks put their trust into these companies and they're just out to make a buck on the backs of people. I'm thankful to be able to return it, but dang. This is the second issue I've had with the seller. Where's the quality assurance in your product and service??
