The Clogs (really, am I wearing clogs...) arrived quickly and were exactly what I expected: great craftsmanship and immediate comfort. Do to a 30 year drumming career, I've developed retrocalcaneal exostosis
which is a painful bone-spur under the achilles tendon. That being said, traditional shoes - well, they hurt, a lot. I really don't like open toe shoes and I've looked high and low for alternatives, these fit the bill pretty well....I'm definitely not a Birkenstock kinda guy but...oh well; comfort counts. Regarding size, I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 shoe, but as the reviews have described, this model does run big: 43 (Size 10) would have been far too large...so as the reviews suggested, go a full size down - the 42 (size 9) worked out really well. Rocking on with my Birkes .
