Top critical review

I don't commonly leave reviews, but I thought this one warranted me doing so.
I'm relatively computer savvy and purchased this item because it is "Onvif compliant" to setup with my current system.
Installation was pretty straight-forward and I would say the average person can do. Along with the manual, they have an easy to access video that walks through the steps. After installation...everything went wrong.
OF COURSE the minute you hook up something you want to test the basic features. my daughter proceeded to try the doorbell but nothing happened. Before giving up and thinking I had installed the doorbell wrong, I attempted to do the WIFI setup to see if maybe that would work. Major Failure!
My house is all iphone/ipad and that may have something to do with it. I've read other reviews where people were successful using Samsung. The camera would not hold the "Yellow" LED status which is when you are supposed to connect so I called the support number provided.
Call 1: After waiting 20 minutes, I finally reached a rep. REP: "Did you push the doorbell button before doing wifi Setup?" ME: "Yes, I'm sure I did" REP: "oh, that is the issues. I know it doesn't say it anywhere but you can't do that". CLICK (yes, he hung up on me)
Call 2: After waiting another 20-30 minutes, I reach rep #2: REP "what is the model number of the device you are calling about?" ME: <I read the model #>" CLICK (no joke)
Call 3: After waiting another 20-30 minutes, I reach rep #3: REP: "What item are you calling about today?" ME: "I'm calling about the video doorbell." CLICK!!!
ok, maybe there is an issue with my landline phone so let me try on my cell phone:
Call : After waiting again, I reach rep #4: REP: "Hello, you've reached Wisenet warranty department, what can I help you with?" ME: "If I tell you, do you promise not to hang up on me?" REP: "Oh, I won't hang up on you and I can try to help. ME: "The last 3 reps hung up on me so do you give me your word?"
The guy helped as best he could but we discovered that the camera was in an endless reboot cycle - LED would go from solid red, to blinking blue, to yellow, then repeat without any intervention. He suggested I return the product.
So to summarize:
Didn't work with my IOS products, maybe better luck if you have a Samsung
DO NOT try the doorbell until wifi setup is done (I can't say that this would have fixed my issue but they hinted towards it)
The service for the product is absolutely horrible! So unless you get a clean setup, don't even waste your time- just return it.
I had high hopes for the item because of its dimensions, ONVIF compliance and no requirement for a subscription. Because I don't have a Samsung device, I won't even bother trying again. Buyer beware!
