I use cumin powder in many recipes: turkey meatballs, steak stir fry, tofu tacos, beans and rice and as a result spend too many weekends fussing with the jar of ground cumin at the coop where the cost is hefty, the convenience poor and the flavor acceptable.
This bulk bag of cumin seeds lets me enjoy the fresh flavor of ground cumin without the inconvenience of the bulk foods aisle and encourages me to toast the seeds prior to grinding.
The seeds do require a spice grinder and that adds an element of time and work to enjoying the spice (unless your recipe calls for the whole seed) but it allows for the spice to last in storage for a longer period of time and yields a better flavor.
For me this product was a great buy and I think it would be for those with multiple children or those who make most of their meals at home.
