Beautiful shoes and narrow width, true to Frye

Frye is always a tight fit for me because I have a wide foot I have to go a half size up. That being said the 6.5 (half size up) fits me great. I'm worried about the insole being so rock hard, but I'm going to get a thin insole to help with that. I may have to get them stretched a bit just to fit a thin insole, but it will be worth it because I love the look of these shoes! I think the tanned leather ones are incredibly over priced, but these suede ones are about right.

UPDATE (almost 2 months later) : These boots are way more comfortable than I expected them to be! I can stand/walk in them for hours without my feet hurting. They have stretched nicely with wear for my wide feet also. They're my favorite boots!!

I really wanted to like these boots. They are a great look. The right boot fit perfectly. The left boot didn't fit at all - narrower, and the heel didn't sit flat on the floor- it sorts of rocked. It seemed like the two boots were not part of a pair. I wore these boots for about an hour inside the house, and it's telling that when you take a pair of shoes off and your feet are happier - well it means one thing - send em back. Curious that a $375 pair of boots would have this kind of quality control issues. And from Frye - which is one of my favorite brands. Hopefully, others don't have similar issues.

PAINFUL! what the heck, Frye?!

doesn't matter how cute shoes are if you can't wear them. as soon as I put them on and stood up, I felt the huge ridge in the insoles, across the width of the shoe, just where the heel of the insole ends. it was like a drop-off, with different heights for your heel and the rest of your foot. i was really shocked. I kept checking inside to see if something was stuck in there ... but no, it's how they're made.
i have other Frye shoes and boots that I love (and can wear!). I have no idea what's going on with these boots.

I’m a fan of Frye boots. These are as shown in the photo. It’s easy to find burgundy reds but difficult to find a good warm red like these. I purchased an 8 , my normal size, and they are a bit narrow and tight My last Frye boots were a 7.5 and were perfect. The leather relaxes with wear but even after several wears I still don’t find them as comfortable as I’d expect for $199. I spent the money because it was important that my shoes were comfortable for walking during my lunch hour at work. I have shoes half the price that are far more comfortable. But I do like the color and I can be sure that the quality Frye offers means they will last years.

Good seller, uncomfortable shoes

These shoes were the worst fitting pair of Frye’s I’ve ever put on my feet. I have about 8 pairs of Frye boots and I’ve always worn the same size in all of them. I really hoped they would fit, because I love the look of them. They were huge around my ankles and the heel was so large it caused my foot to slide down making them feel super tight in the toe box. The seller was great about letting me return them, I almost bought a pair of the same shoes on eBay that would’ve been cheaper, but after reading other’s reviews on the poor fit, I knew I needed to have the option to return them. I really wanted them to fit, but they just didn’t.

Immediately bought another pair two minutes after I tried these on!!

Holy Moly! I pulled these gorgeous red boots out of the box and slipped them on and oooolala. They are made with such great detail and so comfortable. I have not worn a heel in so many years and loved wearing high heels my whole life. I , at least, feel like a fluffy ball of femininity. I jumped right on line to order a different color. It does not even attack my bunion. I was taken aback with the price, but could not resist the red, and now know I will be wearing these for a long time. I bought the cognac boots in size 8 (normally I’m a 7.5) they fit well, slightly big but if I wore thick socks it would feel perfect with a little extra space for toes. They were beautiful, however if I’m paying $398 plus tax, they better be in brand new condition. These were definitely already worn, the shoes were out of the wrapper and one didn’t even have the paper inside to hold its shape. They were creased very badly too. I would have kept the boots if they were half the price. There’s only ONE size 8, so if you see it available, DON’T buy it unless you are okay with paying full price for a used product.

I received used, worn boots. They are worn in, wrinkled and the insides have indentations from someone else’s foot. They have dirt and drips of something on the outside. They have a large lump or ridge that pokes my arches. I thought something was bunched up in the boot, but it is just the way they are made. They seem like cute boots, but are poorly constructed. $400 boots should be a lot nicer than this.
