This curler is easy to use, heats up quickly, and makes it impossible to burn yourself. The heating rod is inside the bristles, which don't get hot so you can hold your hair in place and not burn yourself. I recently cut my hair short and I use this to style my hair and give it volume, and it works perfectly. For the shorter pieces, I just wrap the hair loosely around it and continuously spin the curler (the pieces aren't long enough to wrap completely around it). For the longer pieces, I start near the root so that it brushes the hair as I go to the end, then I curl the hair around it. It heats up enough that I don't need to keep the hair wrapped up very long. All in all, I'm very happy with this product.
