Very nice cables and better than the stock one

I am replacing a defective cable that came with the Hip-dac portable DAC that was so flaky I could not use it for walking around because it was constantly resetting itself. I didn't know whether the connector was loose from the circuit board or the cables were both flaky, but I was able to try a jury-rigged usb-c adapter and isolated the problem to the cables. Now it's working perfectly like it never has since I got it. It's a good thing that there's 2 of them because it takes a lot of movement and it's bound to break eventually. Thank you for the quality cable that is correct for my application at a reasonable price..

NOT USB-3. Can only do USB-2 Speeds

If you are buying this adapter because of the claimed USB-3.0 connection, look elsewhere. This is a USB-C to USB-2 adapter. Details in the description below and attached pics:
I was excited and had high hopes for this adapter after reading most of the reviews here. The cables arrived in a nice little box and the cables seemed to be just the right length and made out of quality materials. I have external USB-3 drives that I wanted to connect to my Mac laptop that has only USB-C ports. The descrption of the product on Amazon clrealy states that it is a USB-C to USB-3 adapter. There is even a product picture showing the USB end with 5 pins, a sure sign of USB-3. The box that the cables came in has no specs of the product, which is fine, except for a sticker laid over an original bar code and states "USB C to USB 3.0 Adap...rface Laptop, and More" (sic) . That should have been my first tell. I was pretty confident that it won't be able to do USB-3 speeds when I counted the pins, of which there were 4 not 5. I confirmed it with a test run of backing up large files and also with "DIsk Speed Test" by Blackmagicdesign to an external hard drive and comparing the results with a different USB-C to USB-3 adapter using the same hard drive and USB-C port. 65MB/s is all this connector can do with writes and reads compared to close to 10x that speed with the USB-3 test.
The product still deserves some stars for the nice design and what seems like quality construction materials. However, it loses a couple of stars for false claims relating to USB type and speeds.

Great little adapters—Uses less space than bullet style adapters

The most important thing to know about these adapters beside their great quality, is the fact that the take up less space around the USB-C port on your Mac. The small barrel style adapters (the ones with no cable just a plug and a socket) take up too much space around the USB-C ports to use ports next you it. These don’t do that. These are slim at the USB- end because they have a short cable that goes to the USB-A end.

The next thing to know is that these feel durable—like quality items. I bought another brand in the bullet style and another in this form factor before this one, and I think these are a little better that the other short cable adapters.
