How many joules do you need? Heres the breakdown.
1,000- Lamps, blenders, digital clocks, small electronics.
2,000- Power tools, printers, routers, copiers, office equipment.
3,000 and above- Home theater components, soundbars, computers, subwoofers, synthesizers, DJ equipment and anything that stores important information.
I'm a music producer and audio engineer, I've used countless of surge protectors in my career and this is possibly one of the best I've come across.
It's exceptionally well built and feels like a solid piece of equipment, the green LED indicators allow you to verify that everything is both grounded and protected. Something that's extremely important yet most people overlook without knowing the importance of Joules and proper grounding. They buy a power strip with an on/off switch, connect their TVs, soundbars, computers etc etc and call it a day. Not good.
4,500 joules is more than enough to protect almost anything found in a home (except a space heater, never plug one into any power strip). I looked for other surge protectors with as many joules as this one for the same price and could not find a single one. Even the ones that cost twice as much only went up to 2,100 joules.
Amazon, I tip my hat to you. You guys are making great products.
