Scooper broke on the 4th scoop of a small 8inch pumpkin. It didn’t require much pressure to snap the metal in half. The other carving tools worked fine. But scooping pumpkin guts is the worst part of carving pumpkins so it didn’t help that we lost that tool so early on.
Great quality tools! I used these with 4 other adults who had never carved pumpkins before, and they were still in perfect condition afterward. I’ve purchased similarly-priced packs in the past and ended up throwing them out after just one use because they were of such poor quality (they had fewer pieces, too). I used these with the VIVREAL pack, which I also recommend, and between them, I didn’t need to borrow anything from my kitchen. The other pack was better for beginners; we didn’t end up using many of the tools here, but if I had been carving my own pumpkin, they would’ve been really handy.
The downside is, the orange handled paddle/scraper broke. I didn't see it happen, so I don't know if it was user error or tool failure. For such a tool, it probably should be a slightly thicker material through the neck. I personally don't use that tool for scraping, so I am not very troubled by it.
On the upside, all of the wood handled tools performed quite well. They all had enough of an edge on them to carve well and none worked themselves loose after hours of handling.
A wonderful product for the season. I'm tired of carving pumpkins. Wife immediately wanted to know "How much did that cost" because quality is so good for the price. Grandkids tried to wear the utensils out on pumpkins - i think a total of eight. Thanks
I paid $10 for a “Professional” kit from Pumpkin Masters (it was at Target). For just $3 more this kit is far superior than the store bought kit. We carved some awesome pumpkins and it looks to be one that will last for a few years.
I bought this thinking I could shave a pumpkin instead of carving one, turns out I have no idea how to shave a pumpkin and I wasted money on purchasing this kit. I didn’t break any of the tools which was pretty surprising compared to the cheap carving kits I was accustomed to. If you actually know what your doing this kit seems pretty useful
