Perfect Nikon D850 refurbished!

PERFECT D850. It was an Amazon renewed body for a around $600 less than the $2400 new one. I figured it had some shutter releases on it before it was fixed. Took an image and did the thing to see what the shutter count was. It was ONE!!! Maybe, maybe not. I am all in. Works flawlessly alongside my bought new other D850. Happy Camper. Great seller - great product - great shipping - super price!

Camera came in box with no literature no battery, Exposure was so far off. Returned last week and still no refund. and only 1 response from seller. asking for more information. Would definitely not buy renewed camera off amazon again. seller has poor customer service and product quality is very poor. It was returned for a reason the first time.

This camera was a big step up for me. I was coming from a Nikon D80 to this, so the learning curve was pretty steep. The online manuals available from Nikon were helpful. The lens I ordered with the camera ended up not being what I needed, so I ordered a second one in order to be able to zoom in closer on subjects. I had trouble getting the original lens on the camera at first, but after talking to Nikon support, was able to get it to rotate on, and haven't had an issue with that since. It takes fantastic photos. They are super crisp and clear. The SnapBridge app that allows you to download the photos to your phone is a nice feature, but it does have an issue with iOS and often times will crash on the first attempt. Subsequent attempts are usually successful. I haven't used all of the features of the camera yet, as I'm still learning, but so far I think it's a great camera and I was able to get it at a great price.

This is a great camera. The features are incredible. There is no built-in flash, so you will need an external or hot shoe flash. It supports wireless flash synch. In regards to seller feedback, the manual was Japanese. I found a spiral-bound manual on eBay and downloaded a free e-version from Nikon. The camera is in excellent like new condition, with not a scuff or scratch anywhere. Less than 10k shutter count. An excellent deal for the money. Also purchased the Assurion warranty on checkout. It's well worth it.

Great camera! I have worked my way up over the years with a D70, a D300, a D600, a D5200 (yuck!) and now the top-o'-the-line D850. Yes, it's used, but so are all my other cameras. It came to me clean and in excellent working order. Now that I've had an opportunity to use the D850 under various conditions, I'd safely recommend this seller to other buyers.

This is a full-size sensor mirror-flipping 45MB monster of a camera. If you don't know what all of that means, this ain't your camera.

PROs: It's all about the sensor. Nikon has worked some serious engineering magic and has this new sensor super sensitive and very high resolution at the same time. The GUI is very familiar to my fellow Nikon users. What was new to me coming from a D7000 was the wonderful touch screen. Construction is medal and feels solid. The photos pop straight out of the camera in .JPG and RAW is available for those who want total control. It draws second looks from other Nikon shooters.

CONs: That big sensor needs big NIKOR FX lens so be prepared to upgrade if you're coming up from the smaller DX sensor. No pop-up flash at all but a small Nikon one is about $150. To be honest this thing sees in the dark and takes photos that I would have thought impossible. I use the small flash to add a highlight in people's eyes. The D850 and those big beautiful FX lens are heavier.

It’s a little bit heavy but I get the image quality I want so it doesn’t bother me at all. I did tons of research and no other camera gave me the look I was looking for besides this one. The colors are so rich and true to tone, I wouldn’t change it

"Refurbished" D850: heavily used and dirty

I ordered a renewed D850 body. I was surprised to find that it arrived dirty: the eye cup was dusty, there was grime stuck in the hot shoe, both LCDs were smeared and greasy, and there was dirt in all the little spaces (next to the mode dial, around the power button, around the viewfinder, etc). I spent an hour with lens cleaner, lens paper, and toothpicks trying to clean it up before I felt like I could safely put a lens of mine on it to try it out.

I checked the shutter actuations and it was >130K. OK, it's supposed to be refurbished, but given that the shutters are rated for a max of ~200K, that's pretty used. And given that it wasn't even cleaned, I find it hard to imagine that any actual refurbishing took place. I returned it, and that seemed to go OK. Just FYI.

I'll make this brief.

First and foremost: Renewed? This camera is NEW. Shutter Count upon receiving testing using a single shutter click was 1! Amazing!

Second: Get the Asurion insurance. Covers more than the Nikon warranty does anyway. Coupled with my own personal insurance a camera without a factory warranty is FINE by me!

Bought it "renewed". Simply meant it's a grey market camera. Absolute no difference. Just doesn't come with a warranty which is irrelevant because my Lemonade insurance and the insurance I bought via Asurion double cover this thing for eternity. That said, this camera is AMAZING.

If you are even questioning this thing... don't. Get it. And this seller is great. Great communication.
