Hard to push buttons

i love the look, feels great, nice quality. but it hard to push the buttons and if you add a flash its difficult because of the skin. i had to cut that piece off just to be able to do it without damaging my flash. i did end up just removing it from my camera completely because my camera is new to me and i couldn't find/use the buttons i needed

The cover fits my Sony A7RIII perfectly. The words on the cover are easy enough to read and all cutouts are done correctly. It was easy to get on my camera and offers an extra layer of protection. I would purchase this product again if I needed another.

This cover is made for the Sony AR7 series of camera.

Once you have taken off the lens, carry strap and eye piece, this protective cover pulls on like a T-shirt.

You just slide the camera through the opening in the bottom and shimmy it around until all the little buttons and knobs are clear and in the right place.

The right side is open for memory card access and the left side has a vertical slot that allows you to open it to access the microphone and cable access doors, but otherwise stays shut to keep dust out.

The bottom of the camera sleeve is open allowing easy access to the battery door and the tripod mounting screw.

This cover looks sharp and all the cut outs are in the right place. All the buttons work well.

The only minor downside is the scroll wheels at the front and back of the frame that are used for F-stop and Shutter speed are a little harder to operate.

The cover is the same thickness through out which is good for protection, but makes the front and back scroll wheels tough to use unless you push a little harder.

Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.

Otherwise it works perfectly for what I had in mind: Improved grip and scratch protection.

The clean cut outs in cover show off the camera model number and allow full openings for the stereo microphones.

For anyone looking at the review photos, I should mention I also have an extended eyepiece cover installed.

This cover doesn’t come with that part, but you can get it here on Amazon if you want an extended eye piece for daytime shooting.

I grabbed the extended eye piece and a screen protector along with this camera sleeve.

I recommend all 3. We all try to treat our cameras right,.. but if it should take a spill, these 3 items provide piece of mind and might save you a ton of money in the event of an accidental drop or tip over on a tripod.

I have been using this case for about two weeks and must say it has impressed me as well as others. It is a great addition to the camera. Not only as a protector. It provides a strong grip and textured feel when handling the camera. The matte color is very classy. I have been asked several times where did I get it. Overall it has pretty good access to the slots and buttons. I do recommend it.

The case is not ideal for an A7R iii. The access to the dials are covered slightly when it should be open to your fingers. Same to turn the camera on, it, the button is partially blocked from your finger. Sometimes I feel to remove it. I don’t think it fits well at all If you have a battery grip don’t buy, the grip does not work with this case. I had to cut the bottom part for my grip to work. By the time I am done with this review, I have decided to not use it, what a waste. You buy it to protect you camera, but it slows you down in the field. Notice the shutter wheel in the middle photo, it is buried in the skin, so to turn it you have to use a lot of force to push your finger in the groove to get it to turn. It is too distracting, Sony did an amazing job to design a7Riii for ease of use and this case compromise their efforts.

Excellent for non-flash shooting if you know your buttons

I've tried a number of protective covers, and this is the best one I've found. The major plus is that it adds a little thickness and TOTAL non-slipness to all surfaces--you will not drop the camera. I really love the non-slip feel. Unlike some others, it has a mostly open bottom with easy access to the battery case. The side openings are a bit tricky and take some wrangling. In particular, the card access door won't pop open unless you stretch the silicone a bit. I don't find that a big deal; some might. And while the tripod socket is uncovered, certain attachments might be less secure because of the rim of silicon. I've not found a problem; some might. And while it seems counter-intuitive, it's really NOT hard to put on. Super stretchy silicon

The three major issues are: 1. The buttons on the camera are not easily read. The A7 III has nicely labeled buttons. The button covers here are labeled but not colored in--essentially impossible to read. So you really have to know your camera very well and not need to see which is C1, C2, AF, etc. It also can take some learning to press the buttons and takes a bit more pressure to do so. 2. It can be difficult to move the front grip dial, as it's buried a bit deep. I actually cut a way a little sliver of silicon to make it more accessible. 3.Forget on-camera flash. The silicon protector that fits into the shoe cannot be moved out of the way enough to really make the shoe functional. In theory, you could stretch it backwards, but the eyepiece hood blocks it. I personally haven't yet done any flash photography, so it's not a problem for me now--but clearly will be in the future. However, to be honest, it would be easy to just cut this part off and leave the shoe open (or use the shoe cover that came with the camera).

Bottom line is that how good this is will depend on what kind of shooting you do, and how much "muscle memory" you have about the custom buttons. For me, the non-slip wins the day, but your mileage will vary.

The web photos make it seem as though you can the button labels, even though there is no type of ink used. However, in person, once you cover the camera with this, make sure you know exactly which button is what, because there is no way to tell once covered. Also, it does fit ok. It is loose in certain areas, tighter in others. It does not seem that it will last long if you have any reason to take it on and off repeatedly.
