Belt much longer than advertised

Nice belt, nice quality, but WAAAY too long for the advertised size. Really annoying. I have a 31" waist and ordered a small. There's 8-10" of slack when I put the belt on. That's almost 1/3 of my waist circumference, which means the tail wraps all the way around to the backside of my hip. It's ridiculous. And this is not a belt you can simply cut down. Shame because it looks nice and is otherwise very practical.

Very disappointed, and very stupid.

A belt with enough utility to make Batman jealous

Like most Arc'Teryx offerings, the Conveyor belt is a purpose-built product that blows the competition out of the water. It can transfer any reasonably weighted item to the hips without slipping at all. It is a very practical belt that doesn't look so "outdoorsy" that it can't be worn casually either. Let's get into what I think about the Arc'Teryx Conveyor.

** The Good **
- Stiffness:This belt is fairly stiff and rigid, making it the perfect platform for attaching relatively heavy items. You don't see any sag, even with something as heavy as binoculars.
- Height: It's quite a bit "taller" than most of my other belts. In addition to its stiffness, this makes anything you strap to the belt very stable and prevents things from bouncing around on your hip.
- Buckle: It is metal (aluminum, I think) and has a nice finish to it. I haven't actively tried to scratch it, but I've used it on several hikes and a couple backpacking trips with no serious wear yet. It does an excellent job at keeping the belt tight.
!!! I cannot stress how important the above features are for any utility belt. If you strap something that could be dangerous (a handgun or knife, for example) or particularly fragile (binoculars), you definitely don't want the stuff moving around a lot.
- Tail End: Of all the parts on the belt, this gives me the most confidence that it's going to last a very long time. It's some kind of dense rubber folded over itself and bolted to the end of belt. The belts I've used for backpacking in the past all started wearing out by fraying on the tail end. I don't see that ever happening with this product.
- Colors: Not something I usually include in rating a product, but I think I'll make an exception here. I have already used this on two trips where I planned some outdoor recreation, but still needed a business-appropriate belt. I have this in several colors, but I would say both the Black and Cast Iron colors can be passed off as formal (as long as they are clean).

** The Bad **
Most of these are fairly minor issues, but there are enough of them that I decided to give it a 4. If I had the option, I would give it a 4.5 because it is very close to being a perfect product.
- Lacking Description: On both Amazon and the Arc'Teryx site, it doesn't say exactly how long each size is. While they both give a waist range for each size, not having an exact length makes it hard to judge how far around you it will reach. I am a 31" waist and the Small fits me really well. However, it just barely doesn't reach one of my belt loops on my favorite hiking pants and I would have preferred to measure that before purchasing the item. Not a deal breaker, just would have been nice to know beforehand.
- Lacking Description 2: On just Amazon, it doesn't say how "tall" the webbing of the belt is (1.5 inches). I didn't run into any problems and I doubt most people would, but pants with particularly short belt loops may be too small for this belt.
- Tail End: While I do like the style of the rubber on the end of the belt, it is thick enough to get caught on belt loops when removing.

This isn't good or bad, just more of an FYI. Due to the size of the buckle and stiffness of the webbing, I would advise against wearing this belt in situations where you will be sitting for large periods of time. It has almost no give to it and will dig harshly into your stomach when sitting unless you are flat as a board.

All in all, this is probably the best utility belt I have ever owned. At least for outdoor purposes, the Conveyor has slowly replaced all of my old ones and I am up to 4 different colors. I think it's saying something that my biggest issues with the product deal more with how it is described by sellers than the actual features. I highly recommend this product for any outdoor activity.

OK for a Hiking belt: -1 for price and -1 for wet stretch.

I am a true 36 and find that the Large is too long (I regret listening to the other feedback!). There is enough extra belt length that the material hits the phone carrier on my hip! But also consider your belt loops, as there is not a flap holder on this belt at all so you must utilize your shorts/pants loops. To do it again, I would purchase the Medium as indicated from the seller. FWIW I only use this belt when hiking (in TX) and when wet with sweat it will expand a bit more. (I do not think the clasp slips, it is just the nature of the material to stretch when wet.) On a 3-4 hour hike, I usual have to re-tighten the belt once during a water break. The belt does dry easily when hung in the bathroom, usually I will sink rinse with tap water then hang to dry. I use this belt primarily with Columbia brand hiking shorts and Army surplus cotton t-shirts. Also fits tactical pant loops without issue. Holds the weight of a Ka-Bar and S7 phone without issue. For essentially $40 the price is too high. A better price point would be in the $25ish range. Overall, I am happy with the belt, but it is not perfect. -1 for price and -1 for wet stretch. Office dwellers will not utilize this belt for its intended purposes and the review probably wont hit home, but if you are an outdoor person hopefully this review is helpful.

36" Waist. Medium way too small.

Be very careful about sizing. I am a true 36" waste. I only own 36" waist shorts and pants and in a few cases when they run large a 34" waist. Everything I read on this site made me believe I should be a medium. Well, that is not the case. Now I will need to pay to ship back. Please be aware sizing may vary. I even measured myself to make sure I wasn't nuts, and I am correct. Not sure where other people are buying their pants, but if you are a 36" waist, the medium will barely even be functional. 6ft 3 205lb guy for reference.

The belt looks nice, but I anticipate issues with the grommets as other reviews have stated over time. Again, I can use the belt, but barely and I will be returning. Shame as if I hadn't researched sizing using comments and questions/answer I would have gotten a large.

Belt adjusts to the exact length needed at the moment.

Men without waists rely on a belt to hold their pants up. This especially applies when active or when pockets are full. Most belts have holes so you can often be left with a belt slightly too tight or slightly too loose. This belt is fantastic. It can be adjusted to the exact size that is both comfortable and gets the job done. It is suitably stiff to hold things up and can easily be made tighter or looser while on a hike or during other strenuous activity. This is the best belt I have ever owned.

This has become my preferred outdoor and travelling belt and I wear it as my daily belt half of the time (particularly if I wear jeans). It's slim yet firm enough to hold your pants up even with loaded pockets. But thin enough to not get in your way as yo move out and about and it does NOT budge. Some other expensive belts I've had in this (web) style always end up moving. But this one does not.
PLUS the price ain't too bad. I've been using one for the past 4 years and just recently I got a new one for color variety.

Excellent belt

I prefer this style of buckle to other types in general, but Arc'teryx makes the best of these that I have been able to find. I have purchased similar styles made by other manufacturers and have had them be difficult to use or bulky and some that have worn through the webbing very quickly. I don't expect to have the same issues with this belt and will likely buy the same model in different colors in the future. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

Wish it was a little softer

Bought this belt to use when I go hiking as I wanted something that would be more flexible than what I currently had.

Pros:
1. Looks good
2. Light and goes on easily
3. Material looks like it will last a while.

Cons:
1. Just a little too stiff. Wish it was a little softer, but not a deal breaker.
2. Hard to take off quickly which is also somewhat related to it being stiff since it affects how it cinches down.

I still recommend the belt if you want something that is light and can take a beating.
