I purchased this tripod mount collar for my Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 zoom lens. It is good quality, fits perfectly, performs exactly as it should. To those who say it doesn't fit their lens, I think they're trying to use it on a lens for which it is not intended. It is a perfect fit for the Tamron 100-400mm. I really appreciate that the foot is designed for ARCA-Swiss Fit quick release, so I don't have to attach a separate ARCA plate. Quality product all around.

Good but watch for adhesive leak.

The collar works well and is very well made. However, I had an issue with the adhesive leaking from the tape on the inside of the collar. It appears this tape is there to cut down on metal to metal friction when rotating the lens inside the collar. It got so bad I was not able to rotate the lens at all. After taking off the collar I identified the problem and used “Goo Gone” to get rid of the leaked adhesive and will keep an eye on it. Lens was not used in hot weather so no idea why this issue arose.

The Tamron 100-400 can use a tripod mount. Tamron left it out to keep price lower and then offers you the option of buying the mount for an additional cost. The Tamron factory mount and this compare quite well only this one is one-third the price of the Tamron branded mount.
The mount fits perfectly. Its finished well and works exactly as expected. Its easy to mount on the lens and it will accept a screw in mount or you can use the built in Acra compatible mount. I was a bit hesitant to buy one of these due to limited comments on them as they are fairly new on the market. But, needing this adapter and just refusing to pay three times as much for such a simple device I pulled the trigger and got one of these. It arrived quicker than expected (Less than two weeks) and when I fitted it to the lens I was totally satisfied with the performance and finish. I would buy again without hesitation and would recommend it to a friend. Its a winner!

I was very disappointed in this product. It doesn't fit snugly on my Tamron 50-400. The quick release is nice, but there's not enough room to adjust to a good fit. Placed on a tripod, it wobbles. Also, without any kind of liner on the interior, it scratched my lens when I rotated it. Not good.
Yes, I could adjust with some tape. But I tried the Haoge alternative which DOES fit and has a felt liner to prevent scratches. The Haoge doesn't have a quick release, but is better in every other way. I'm returning this.

I bought this for my 50-100 because users of the Tamron 100-400 said the Tamron 50-400 used the same model but was out of stock. I was leaving the country so I bought it but it never fit well on my 50-400 and I just bit my teeth until recently when I found the Tamron back in stock so I ordered the model for the Tamron 100-400/50/100 and it fits my 50-400 like a glove. Given the same dimensions for both Lens at that point I can't image this item fitting really well or I had a unit manufactured out of tolerance.

The material feels good. But the edge should be rounded. It's super easy to scratch a Tamron plastic lens body. I think the solution is either using lens skin or polishing the aluminum yourself. No 3M film founded. Thus it can not hold the lens tightly. The lens wobbles, which you may want to avoid for a telephoto zoom lens . This maybe due to production reason. The problem can be fixed by applying a thin tape by yourself. With all the DIY needed to make this collar actually useful, you may still end up paying less comparing to purchasing the original Tamron collar.
