An exciting follow-up in the AI Fleet series by Isaac Hooke
October 21, 2018
Devastator is the second book in the AI Fleet series by Isaac Hooke, and it's the follow-up to Forerunner. This books picks up ~10 years from where Forerunner left off. The team has stayed out of humanity's way and tried to make a life, and fleet for themselves. That peace and quiet is shattered when human fleet comes looking for them.
After that encounter Jain and company are forced to make a decision about coming back into human space or running further, and probably always being on the run. I can't say too much more without spoiling the story, but I really enjoyed the plot/story of this book as the characters continue to battle their enemy's through the twists and turns. Jain's evolution as a leaders is also fun, seeing him come to grips with his past as a Navy seal and his current as a leader of his AI fleet.
Overall, Devastator was a great story and kept the pages turning with a great action and a plot. I highly recommend this book, but you should probably ready Forerunner first to come up to speed on the universe and all of the characters. It's also a good book.
