Installation is counter intuitive. You must start 180 degrees from the logical place. Start with base over the window. Fits perfectly once you figure that out.
Number one problem with my copy is two of the set screws are two long and protrude out far enough that the base cannot be clamped into place on the tripod. They cannot be tightened enough to work.

This fit my Tamron 100-400 f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD A035 Lens perfectly. Looks like it came with the lens and allows me to mount to an Arca Swiss tripod. Build quality is excellent and it is robust enough to securely hold my 5D Mk IV with battery grip and the Tamron 100-400 in a solid position without moving. Can't recommend this enough if you're looking for a cheaper option than buying the Tamron collar.

The collar is robust, feels very solid, so I recommend it. But in terms of ergonomics the base it's a bit short so it isn't too comfortable at your hand when you're carrying your lens (second photo shows it). I used it with a tamron 100-400 and a mark II, so it's like 2 kilogram that it has to support.
