Healthy Protein Punch

I have been buying these hemp seeds for several years. I primarily put a serving on my oatmeal in the morning for a little extra protein and calorie punch. They also go great on smoothies and salads. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, these are a good source of additional protein and omegas. They are also a bit high in fat so I try to not eat too much in a day. I buy the 5 lb bags on subscribe and save. It is a bit pricey but is also the most economical compared to the smaller sizes.

I divide the bag into jars that I can take with me to work and add to my lunch. I keep the bag in the refrigerator. They have a nice nutty taste and I have eaten them plain and they taste good. They are a little high in calories, so I have to be careful not to eat too much. I bought them because it is an easy way to add some protein to my diet and feel fuller.
They have a texture of their own. When you add them to yogurt, for example, you know they are there because your tongue feels the bumps. In salads I notice them much less.

Use It Instead of Meat

I minimize the meat I eat now due to growth hormones in our meat. Those hormones make me hungry and make me overeat. I mix these seeds with 5 teaspoons in Cream of Wheat which has sugar and I never taste them and I get all the protein I need. Keeps me full. With long-term use I stay full and do not over eat. I still eat some meat at times but this helps me minimize eating steak, chicken etc. The meat I usually eat is sausage with some spagetti. The only issue is you will probably test positive for marijauana usage. But I am retired. Minimizing my meat eating really lead me to a normal fullness. I am not super hungry as I was before so I can eat just 2 slices of pizza at a time not 5 like before. That has a tremendous effect with helping to maintain your weight.
