We have a different, smaller lightweight Venture Pal backpack that we love, so I got this one to use for beach trips, family outings, camping, etc. where we would need to carry more gear. We've used it three times and needed to wash it after each trip. The manufacturer says that it's machine washable, so I've been washing it on a gentle cycle with cool water and then letting it air dry. Unfortunately, after each wash, the zipper has gotten harder and harder to use. At this point, it's pretty much stuck unless you're willing to spend a lot of time and patience and really work at it. I have no idea why it's happening - we've washed our other Venture Pal backpack probably 25 times using the same method, and it still works perfectly. This backpack is cute, but I regret buying it.
