I really like this product. But you can't use it on the short cycle. I rewashed my pants and thank goodness it didn't stain them. My short wash is only 15 min with front load high efficiency washer. I had done 5 loads without any issues. So I think it was because they were dress clothes. And that it was a synthetic cotton mix. But other than that, so convenient, I always use liquids. I just got to pay more attention when doing synthetic clothing I guess. It has a nice scent. The price is a little expensive. But sometimes you pay a little more so you dont have to handle heavy liquids and better for the environment. No plastic waste. I do love that.

My husband and I are trying to reduce our use of plastic packaging, so we were excited to learn about laundry detergent strips. I purchased this brand based on prior reviews, but I'm afraid my experience didn't match those of other individuals. While these strips are easy to use and seem to clean well, I found that the detergent didn't seem to dissolve completely in my front load washing machine. The package recommends using one strip for a medium load; I did this but was dismayed to find that the strip hadn't dissolved completely and remnants were stuck on multiple pieces of laundry. I had to run a rinse cycle, then another cycle with an extra rinse to get rid of the residue. Even then, there were still a few small clumps that I had to pull off and rinse by hand. In the future, I plan to use only half a strip in a regular load to see if this helps address the issue.

In addition to the residue issue, potential buyers should be aware that these strips are very heavily scented. This scent is not unpleasant, but it is very strong and cloying, lingering on clothes long after the wash is done. Those who are sensitive to strong scents may want to choose another product.

Overall I would say that these strips were a disappointment for me. I do love the idea behind them (and the biodegradable packaging is a plus), but I will probably seek out another brand like EC30, Tru Earth or Breezeo in the future. Hopefully I can find a way to use the Homevative so they don't go to waste.

These were my first attempt at detergents not packaged in plastic bottles and I’ll try some others for comparison, but I’ll happily go back to these. I found the scent pleasant and didn’t think it lingered longer than any other scented detergent, but certainly if you’re sensitive to scents, it might be an issue for you. After using one full pack, I never saw any detergent residue on my clothes. I know some have had that issue, so it may depend on your machine. I did medium and large loads with one sheet and small loads with half a sheet, all in a front-load HE washer, and everything was clean and residue-free. I’m really happy with them and definitely think they’re worth a try.

However.. Just about all our laundry is heavy loads of jeans, and towels and that calls for 2 or more sheets.

I'm going to wait and see if larger quantities are available and the same or lower price than the current detergent market. Current prices are about 23.5 cents per load or 45 cents per load for "HEAVY" loads. Current liquid detergent approx $15.00 for 120 loads averages about $.12 cents per load.

Great laundry alternative

I’m trying to reduce plastic use in our household so I gave these a try. I really like them. As you can see in the picture, the sheets dissolve quickly, even in cold water. They do a good job cleaning our clothes. My only complaint is that the sheets really stick together and can be difficult to separate. So I just separated them all at one time and staggered them in the package, problem solved. So my rating would have been 4.5 stars if I could award halves.

I travel frequently and prefer to pack light. Sometimes I have laundry facilities available to me while I'm on the go, while more often I make do with hotel bathroom sinks. These detergent sheets fit the bill either way.

I've used other travel detergents. The liquid ones can get heavy if I take more than a few, plus there's a lot of waste in packaging. The dissolvable kinds--mini sheets or flakes--are expensive for what they accomplish, and it's hard to determine the right amount to use. Plus they're useless when I do get to use a washing machine.

These sheets are perfect. Lightweight, versatile, easy to carry even enough for a long trip, and I can take them in my carry-on. They work well and smell great. There's not much packaging waste. And they're a good value compared to many other brands.

Great concept, but didn’t dissolve.

These just do not dissolve during the wash. I really wanted to like them but they left soap on my clothes. I even tried tearing the sheet into small pieces, but it still did not dissolve. I have a top loader without an agitator and wash in warm or hot water. I followed directions to the T and just was not happy with these. I am trying another brand right now to see if they work better. I really like the idea of no big plastic containers to lug from the store, not to mention adding them to the landfill.

NO SOAP

The idea of this product is phenomenal. However, upon opening the packaging, the scent is extremely overbearing. It smells great, but it has so much. Smells like someone sprayed cologne all over it before sealing.
I tried putting this directly into the washer with the clothes-no suds. I put it in the top of the washer where the water mixes before going into the cycle-no suds.
I never have thrown out a product after purchasing it. I usually try and make it feasible in some way. This product sucks so bad. Had to purchase liquid detergent.
Honestly, I want my money back. Hopefully, their formula changes or SOMETHING. It doesn't work! :(

I will never go liquid again

This did the job of three products.

We have 5 people in our house. My laundry day usually means I’m stuck by the washer and dryer all day doing about 5-7 loads. Clothes, blankets, bed sheets and towels. Usually I buy what ever is on sale at the two big clubhouses. I put the big awkward heavy plastic bottle in my cart, pay and bring it home just to spill it and measure and spill some more. I was reading about detergent sheets and the pros (less mess, easier to store and carry, cleaner softer clothes etc plus no more plastic waste) vs the cons (cost vs other liquid detergent). I’m on my 3rd load of laundry so I can’t speak for quick loads yet or heavily soiled clothes but I will tell you what I know right now. I absolutely love this stuff. I didn’t think something like this existed or that it could better my life. But it does exist and it has made my laundry day easier.

It’s a sheet. It’s just a simple sheet and it doesn’t feel sticky or weird, more like a sponge. If you have a smaller load you tear the sheet and use that by putting it where you usually put your liquid detergent. I really like the smell. It’s not over powering to me. It smells and feels clean. I found my daughters jacket at the bottom of her closet with dirt on the front. Usually I use the liquid detergent, I pretreat the stains, let them sit, add in the clothes plus the scent boosters and then I can finally start my wash. This time I added everything like I usually do except I only used one of these sheets. No pretreat and no scent boosters. Warm water. No second rinse. I can’t tell you how bright and light my clothes feel. How soft everything is. How it just feels so much cleaner and smells fresh and guess what? Stains are gone! Heavily stuff I’d probably pretreat but average stuff seems to be doing ok so far. It dissolved completely. This is a game changer. The cost might turn people off, and I get that. $8 for 30 average loads is a lot when you could get a container of liquid that does 120 loads for $15. But add pretreating, scent boosters and time of measuring and spilling plus no extra bulky plastic and you might consider this a better option. And did you know liquid detergent is usually 80% water? So $12 is water and $3 is actual detergent. Doesn’t sound like a better idea to me anymore. I don’t think I’ll ever have the liquid again. This stuff is amazing, not just for your clothes but the environment, too. I’d rather pay $8 for 100% detergent vs $15 for only $3 worth of detergent

Oh and see the top of my washer? All those scratches? My husband put that big bulky liquid container of detergent on my washer and the washer had a not so balanced load. It scratched it all up. I don’t see the sheets doing that.
