The process In short:
--When my TV went out I searched the interent to see what I was doing wrong. i had Audio but no picture. I took a flashlight up to the screen I could see an image but from a far it was Black, like it was off.
All the internet videos said "its the backlight.. Toss it!"
--The TV cost me $379.99
Man, Am I glad I got an Asurion plan! No joke.
I Called to file a claim.
They assigned me a local company.
Who in turn asked me my schedule... they assigned me a tech and a time that worked for me.
and with in an hour of the tech arrival -- I had my Brand New TV working again!!!
No other fees or charges.

Now the Tech experience in Long Format.
(for anyone a little skiddish about someone coming to your home.)
He arrived Right in the 3 hour window. Introduced himself. I Was in the middle of reorganizing and he made NO COMMENTS (Score!) I showed him the TV, he took a special light out and said "Do you mind if I use your living floor so i can spread out?" I said SURE! he took the TV off the mounted wall carried it to the floor and got to work.
I asked if wanted Water or Tea.. he politely said "no thanks!"
I checked in on him every so often. he took apart the whole tv... fixed the broken backlights. he had EVERYTHING in his truck.
I tried to leave him alone to do his work but I stepped in and inquired.. he explained what he was doing, I was amazed at the hundreds of tiny screws! HE said "The process is taking apart the layers is key.. They don't make it easy!!" lol
when he finised he let me know.. he carried it back up I showed him all my plugs I needed back in. We tried it out. BAM! it was even brighter than when I purchased it!
he said, "Looks good?" I said BETTER than good!
He said "yeah these backlights I installed are stronger and more relliable than the ones they use in manufacturering, so you should be good for a long time -- . But If you EVER have an issue we'll come back no charge!"
I won't disclose whether I tipped him or not because that is between him and I. But I felt like buying him a Steak Dinner!
My man and The Asurion plan saved me $400 from buying a new TV.
This was one of the best things I purchased in a LONG time.
HIGHLY Recommend!
And I'm more inclined to buy from Amazon knwoing I have this plan that covers all my new purchases. No Separate Insurance on each device. One Umbrella policy. That is CHEAPER than the manufacturers!
It's a no-brainer.
I fell ike telling everyoneI meet! haha!

I purchased this insurance to have coverage on my daughter’s iPad I purchased from Amazon. Opened a claim with Asurion due to the charger breaking off in the charging port. They instructed me to ship the iPad in for repair and provided shipping label for drop
Off a UPS store. I did as instructed. Called about a week later just to confirm they received it, and an agent confirmed they did and techs were working on repair.

Fast forward a month later I had not heard anything, no update of any kid so I called back. The agent I spoke with this time INSISTED they never got the iPad. I explained an agent confirmed a month ago not only did they have it but techs had began repair. He stated there is no record of the call. Was escalated to a manager per my request. I provided the manager the exact date and time I called and spoke with the agent who confirmed the iPad received. The manager assured me he would pull the recording , further research and contact me in 2 days. Following the call I also got proof of delivery from UPS

Long story short, they never called in 2 days, I called back 3 days later and was told that my product was lost and their proposed resolution is to issue reimbursement. Was told someone would contact me in 3 business day to process the reimbursement. Let’s see if they actually call, I have no faith in this company at this point.

The ink in my Epson Ecotank printer wasn't printing right so I put in a claim. It was approved quickly. Then I print out a free label to send back my printer for repairs. The printer was repaired and sent back to very quickly. I was satisfy with the warranty on the insurance. It was easy and quick!!

I bought a TV and then bought this insurance right afterwards because their plan seemed to cover any possible problem that might come up due to accidental damage. I have had shipping companies ruin stuff like this before and just thought it would be a good idea since it was a pretty cheap monthly fee. Unfortunately, they DO NOT cover accidental damage though the third bullet point says exactly that. They took 5 seconds to review my claim which was due to the tv being mounted improperly and fell off the mount, damaging the screen, an accident in other words. I am skeptical of all insurance companies and this is exactly why. They find a way not to cover what they say they will cover.

Their website also needs work. I had to file my claim twice after fiddling with their criteria which flat out would not let me submit a claim unless something aligned with their database. I have no idea what I did but I put the information into their system exactly as it appeared on the Amazon invoice. On the second attempt, I was successful (I think) but it immediately told me to talk to their chat person who subsequently denied my claim. I did not try their mobile app.

I took out an ASURION warranty on this new ASUS looptop, "just for grins", when I purchased an ASUS laptop through Amazon. Totally satisfied with my purchase, about five months later the two USB ports on the left side of the laptop stopped working. I called ASUS technical support. They did their self-diagnostics on the laptop over the phone and determined everything was working correctly - that in their opinion - the issue was probably more of an "operator error issue". That meant since, in their opinion, it was an "operator error issue" I would need to pay at my expense for the postage and computer box to send the laptop into their ASUS warranty repair facility to further investigate the issue since the laptop was still under warranty.

Stunned by ASUS's technical support opinion, I opened a claim with ASURION. It was easier than 1,2,3 because within days a prepaid label with a computer box at ASURION'S expense was sent to my door. Asurion kept me informed almost daily as to the status of repair. I think it was about two weeks before I got the ASUS laptop back - clean was a whistle and . . . the two USB ports on the left side of the laptop work perfectly. Bemused, because the repair ticked said a "sister bord"" was replaced. I did not know there were "sister bords". I wonder if there are any "brother bords" in laptops too. Lol

Well, that is my side of the story and I'm stricken to it! Thank you for reading my review.

I have 52 or so individual plans and decided to try this service for few newer items I did not see the plans available for. I had them follow through in the past when I first used the service in approximately 2019. The claims process is difficult the items has to be ups store shipped with a physical label. The claim form is hand filled pdf with personal information for low dollar items. The claims will be denied for technical reason due to form not filled out or personal information not filled out. The phone service people are friendly but the claims keep coming back denied. If you happen to do more than one claim of a similar item the claim will also be denied if not shipped correctly. They also sell the plan for items they will tell you are not coved after the fact. I did receive a refund for those items. After giving personal information hand filled digitally with 2 factor authentication required?
The form needs to be autofilled from a page on the Amazon site. Fill in description of events Just sign print date. I have sent 10 emails logged in 5 times 7 phone calls claim denied 4 times for not filling out hand filled PDF form correctly. The product failure was on the 4th of July it's the 14th no resolution going to be a long road to 52 claims🤔

Asurion has a great protection plan. Fast response & reasonable price. Although, when I called i selected to get a cb. When they cb because a representative was ready I was on hold for 7 minutes. So I called 3x and the 3rd call I was able to speak with someone. Other than that protection plan is worth it.

On May 25, 2022, I bought a pair of Sony Linkbuds S for $198.00. I also purchased 2 yr protection plan from Asurion. On 3/30/23 I purchased an Unlimited Protection plan from Asurion that covers electronics up to 2 years prior. On 6/11/2023 I reported an issue with my earbuds not charging properly. over the next 3 months, I sent them back and forth to Asurion to be repaired 3 times. Each time they stated they found no issues. They stated they reset the earbuds to factory settings, but the earbuds paired instantly when I took them out of the case. I charged them each time for 24 hours upon return and each time they did not hold a charge for more than 10 minutes. On the last return, UPS lost the earbuds. They stated that they had delivered them to my address, but they didn't. After 2 investigations and more weeks of waiting they found the earbuds and returned them back to Asurion. I reported this customer rep. Audrey on September 19, 2023. She stated she would have the issue resolved in 8 days. On 10/01/2023 she wrote me stating that she would have an answer for me the next Friday 10/6/2023. Today 10/09/2023 I have yet to get an answer for the outcome. I want my refund for the earbuds. I waited for over 4 months for a simple solution to either repair, replace, or refund. No consumer who has paid for these types of warranties should deal with this issue.

The good:

- They've honored claims, saving me considerable money in replace/repair fees.
- It's retroactive for up to a year for prior purchases.

The bad:

- They make you work for it.

Remember how mail-in rebate forms would make you do ridiculous things, and use really long PO Box numbers where there was a high chance you'd get it wrong on an envelope? Sorta like that.

The web site interface is a bit confusing. Just today, I filed what should have been a valid claim, and after completing the claim forms, the interface said "contact us about your claim." Which led me to a chat, which was essentially a repeat process of filing the claim I had just filled out in my account, but with a chat rep. Silly, wasteful and redundant.

They accepted it, but it feels like a game where they hope you opt out at jumping through the next hoop.

Don't buy this plan if you are easily annoyed by such things.

On the other hand, if you buy a lot of consumer electronics, and lose them somewhat frequently to power surges (like I do), by all means, buy it. It will save you money if you are likely to have claims.

I bought this protection for a computer I had to return,. I have searched every conceivable option and can find no way to cancel this subscription. Not on Asurion's website nor on Amazon's. Think twice before you subscribe.
UPDATE There is a way, it just isn't easy to find. I did, so you will if you need to, LOL. It may be a fine product. I never used it because I returned the computer I purchased it for.
