Woks well in my Lenovo Idea-Center 510A

A shortcoming in my model Lenovo 510A is that the USB 3.x ports are only in the front with none in the rear of the unit. I wanted to attach some hi-speed external devices and didn't want the cables visible. I tried two USB adaptors (another brand) without success. I felt like they actually slowed my system. In desperation, I ordered LTERIVER PCIE 4 Ports Super Speed USB 3.0 Card and couldn't be more pleased. I now have the speed, connectivity and reliability that I desired.

Worked great for ~1 year

This USB adapter was plug and play and worked as expected for about a year. Between a year and 18 months it began to turn off completely with no warning, rendering any device plugged into it useless until I restarted my computer. I have done multiple clean Windows installs since this started (unrelated) and it has had the same issue at least a dozen times since the 1.5 year mark. This is very inconvenient and frustrating when all power is cut to an external SSD when I am reading/writing data on it, or just simply typing and my keyboard turns off out of nowhere. I've tried using different devices/combinations of devices, even one USB stick in it at a time, and it still happens occasionally, maybe once or twice every month or so.
As I said it worked great and as expected, but ~1 year is nowhere near an acceptable lifespan for a product like this. I cannot say I would recommend this to anyone, and I am assuming it is too late to get a replacement or refund.

More Stable USB 3.0 Connection than OEM tower

I bought this for a HP prebuilt tower even though it already had a lot of USB 3.0 ports. It seems modern PC board design doesn't have as good signal quality as a working 25 foot USB 3.0 connection in an older Dell PC didn't work stably on the HP. After trying many things (USB 3.0 hub with active cables), I realized it was the HP USB ports. The motherboard must have a bad design as the front ports were stable but not the rear (motherboard is non-standard design and most of the USB is in the front). This card solved the issue to allow for rear connection without dropping the link.

I got this because I’m upgrading an older dell prebuilt system which only has USB 2.0 ports, purpose being to use the old PC for light gaming and video recording with higher transfer speeds to external storage and elgato. So far it’s worked great, plug and play with no fuss all ports work and transfer data without any tinkering in bios. And as for the claim that this device is programmed to shut off, windows automatically shuts it off in a togglable power setting you can switch in device manager. Ever since unticking that setting it’s worked for hours on end. And it doesn’t get very hot either even in my cramped dell system with absolutely no cable management or air flow. Again, after hours of using multiple ports it doesn’t seem to get very hot and the power draw is surprisingly minimal it seems considering it’s drawing power from a crap $10 oem 250w power supply. Add a 95w TDP Athlon, a 75w 1050, 8 gb ram and the system still runs very stable. So far no problems, but I wouldn’t put it in my brand new computer. I think where this product shines is on older mobos. If anything happens I will make sure to update this review but so far it’s looking good for my old system.

This card has just saved me from one month of frustration with a different brand of USB card. This card works with all 4 ports connected and transferring data between Seagate / Western Digital Drives with NO problems. I finally tested transferring data all night and it's still going at full USB 3.0 speeds. Woohoo.

I just spent the last month with a different brand of USB Card that was a total nightmare. The other brand would not work well with more than 2 drives connected, with 3 I was having random dropouts, drives disappearing, data transfer issues, etc and forget about even trying 4. All the while I was blaming Seagate USB drives being crappy but can you believe the whole time it was that other brand of USB CARD??? What a nightmare and a total waste of time.

In any case this one works for me fine in a Dell Poweredge R720. I need it stable because I'm storing and moving very large data sets (over 5TB a day) continuously and I can't believe how happy I am that I can connect 4 USB drives and transfer data to them at the same time without any dropouts. Wow.

The chipset according to device manager is a VIA chipset. When I tried to read the label on the actual chip itself I really thought it said VLI but device manager shows it as a VIA chipset for those that are wondering.

I don't know why I'm happy I can connect 4 drives to a 4 port USB card but I totally am!

If you, like me, feel it is your obligation to mankind is to hook up every known USB device (and several non-USB devices) to your desktop computer. In that case you quickly run out of sockets in the back of your computer. Sure, you can add an external hub, but these have performance issues. So if your main need for USB ports if for high performance hard disks, you turn to boards like this one. These boards are wired in such a way that the propagation delays from CPU to device and back are minimized.
The next important thing is to have a groupt of ports that support the huge jump in throughput that happened between USB 2 and USB 3. This board satisfies all these needs and desires in a very economical way. I experienced no compatibility issues with this board. Nor did I experience any operational or environmental issue.

Not much to say here; trying my darnedest to cling to Windows 7 Professional and this product hit a BIG home run here!

I had to purchase (2) units to get it to work to my liking though; just couldn't get (2) drives on the same board to transfer above 28 gbs, but with two separate boards and each drive connected to their own pcie board, I was at 75-100+ gbs transfer rate which was pretty darn fast for my snail of a computer.

It may be time to say goodbye to my friend Windows 7 Professional and start a new journey with the dreaded Windows 10. I do have some back-up computers waiting in the wings though. much faster than the one I like to use daily. Just can't keep dropping nickles and dimes to make it go any faster.

This small, inexpensively priced PCIe slot USB card is working very well for me.

I have tested this card specifically for compatibility with the Davinci Resolve video editing software, since there are some USB devices which cause Davinci Resolve to refuse to startup (Davinci Resolve searches for USB devices on startup such as their own editing control hardware, USB mics, and so on).

Since this PCIe slot USB card passed the Davinci Resolve finicky software test, and because HWInfo64 reports all sockets working correctly at USB 3.x speeds with all the sockets filled, this card gets a thumbs up.
