This bottle is really pretty but I had to return it as the chemical smell did not come out. I washed it three times the first day and also did an interior wash with peroxide to try to oxidate it clean and not even that and Dawn dish soap worked to get the smell out. When the package arrived I thought it might be just the box or bag it came in so at first I took it out just to air out for an hour. Still after an hour out of box and bag it smelled just like fabric softner you use in your washing machine. While it's not an offensive chemical smell who on earth wants to drink out of something that has this smell or any smell other than nothing or faint plastic? No one in their right mind would drink water out of this trying to be healthy. I gave it two stars only for the look of the bottle and function. It is too bad that this bottle is made this way and that NO ONE in reviews stated that it smelled to save me the hassle of buying it and returning it. Amazon needs to allow this review through so that others know that this bottle has a really prominent chemical smell that does not go away even after many washes. No clue why people keep buying this and why Amazon allows a food/beverage product to be sold that obviously has a chemical issue that could potentially have health repercussions. We're buying this to drink pure water and be healthy, hello!
