Sorry for the long review but I must have received a fake because this toaster is completely inconsistent with all the wonderful reviews. I've had the toaster for a week and each day the bread is toasted unevenly and/or inconsistently. When I tried one slice on level 3, the bread was burned on side and very brown on the other. Again, that was only level 3. There are 6 levels. Anyway, I then I tried two slices on level 2. There was no color at all. So, I tried level 3 again but two slices. They did not burn this time, but they were still too dark. There was no middle ground. One more thing, this is not the toaster to use with pastries. The pastry fell into a crevice and would not pop back up. I had to unplug the toaster, turn it upside and pull the pastry out. So, if you have kids who like pop tarts, use a different toaster. This was a waste of money.
