This is a story you could see on the news tomorrow. Sonia Amon is a retired army major and a doctor. She is an expert on Syria, knows the area and speaks most of the dialects. She helped the CIA on covert missions and she still is. She and her mother are terrified of her father. He is Syrian and he became a jihadi terrorist and is now second in command of ISIS. They know what a monster her father is. He vows to kill them both. She is back in Syria to set up medical clinics. Will she be successful? Will her father find out she is there? Judith's writing will enable you to visualize what is happening. You will experience it as though you were there. This story grabbed me and though I've finished reading it, it hasn't let me go yet. A great start to a new series. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Retired Army Dr, also CIA agent, Dr. Sonia Amon returns to her birthplace, Syria, to set up some medical clinics. Problem, her father is local head of ISIS and wants her back very badly. Good characters that you can relate to.
This book was included in the Kindle collection, Do No Harm. That's where I read this book and was introduced to Judith Lucci's work. While the Do No Harm collection has been discontinued, the Kindle version will be out shortly.
