3.0 out of 5 starsWon't work with the Hario V60 plastic stand.

This scale is just wrong. No, it probably is accurate, but for coffee you want to weigh things, and one of the things you might want to weight is a Hario V60 setup. You know, that classic cone pour over device and the plastic rack that holds the filter holder.
So there are two good ways a scale could be used with a Hario setup. The scale can be narrow enough to fit between the bottom rails. This is what the pictures of the Hario V60 scale look like. Or, the scale can be wide enough to easily support both rails, like the Acaia Pearl S.
This scale is just the wrong size. With or without the rubber mat, the scale doesn't fit. It is just a tiny bit wider than the space between the rails, and thus the whole thing wants to fall over.
I tried making coffee with the Hario at a 45 degree angle to the scale. While it should have worked, I bumped it right after I wet the filter, the whole thing came crashing over, I caught the ceramic V60, the metal plate from the drop tray flew off and rather painfully cut the top of my foot.
I found it hard to read the display compared to other scales, but not impossible. I could use it as a dosing scale..
The timer is manually operated. The button requires enough effort to push it that it makes the Hario shake.
All in all, I found it less useful than two of my other scales. As a $15 scale with a discount, well, I don't know. I will keep it as a dosing scale maybe, or an emergency backup. I wanted it as a backup drip scale, it is just wrong for that for me.
If I was using a different pour over device it might have worked for me. If I used a V60 straight on the carafe... No, it is not stable when you clunk the timer button. It would work if you didn't use the timer... But I tare during the process after I put the coffee in and before. I can hold it stable until I put in the hot water... So if I don't tare again after the bloom.
The point is that this is a lot to fight against while I am using messy powder and boiling water. It can be done. The functions are there. But snap switches and size issues and such makes it a failure.
