3.0 out of 5 starsA few things to know before purchase

Bought this vinyl after hearing Sunday Service. Especially appreciate I was able to download the mp3 as part of the purchase, and preordered. Apparently at a way better price then those reselling here.
Didn’t mind waiting due to Covid-19 shutdowns. The excitement quickly hit the floor. Very letdown by the appearance of the product.
The record ships in a clear plastic sleeve with the record enclosed. There’s a flap. Not certain this is proper storage for an album because it’s plastic and sealed in by the flap. It’s easy enough getting a paper sleeve from a record I don’t prefer or Good Will even. I need to research proper storage in this regard to make sure the plastic cover isn’t an issue long term.
Once over the shock I liked looking at the album. Then, thought okay, that’s nice. Especially since I’d recently bought Changes from JB that’s red. Except that came with a really nice foldable cover and sleeves.
I’m wondering if I missed the memo about a plastic sleeve in the description. My bad if I did. I’ll reread the description to see if this is my fault. Or KW marketing team’s weak idea.
Playing the music on Amazon is cool because the lyrics show. On the television it’s like karaoke and a lot of fun getting my praise on learning the words.
I’ll admit prior to this production didn’t care about KW one way or another. This album and story behind the SS inspires me. Like, JB’s youtube series Seasons encouraged me to buy Changes. After watching Lil Peep’s sad ending found JB’s journey a joy. Love the album, too, so much.
Another album recently bought is Etta James At Last. It’s a greatest hits version. Newly printed. That record, black, is quite beautiful. Very high quality. Lovely. Sounds incredible.
Also, shipping sucked. The other two albums came in a special box designed for a record.
Jesus is king shipped in an envelop. SUPER surprised. Minus another star due to careless shipping. Especially after a delayed ship due to pandemic.
I’ve collected records my entire life. After half a century plus consider myself experienced in quality.
Even though I like the blue record and don’t mind seeing the album I’m turned off by the presentation and shipping lacking care or notation it’s fragile.
Buying an album is a special experience. I know other old timers like myself cherish the entire experience of cover to album. My son is a collector and user now, so it’s in our DNA. I’m aware he’ll borrow and inherit when I buy. I can already hear his comments.
Totally understand KW’s intentions. Super appreciate this obvious collectors item if they’re sold out already. But, the presentation falls WAY short. A huge surprise considering the artist who doesn’t strike me as the type of person who would offer a cheap generic lackluster presentation. Unless this is his point. Screaming cheap plastic simplicity.
All this in mind for the price a cover would have been appreciated. Even a simple blue sleeve in a simple blue cover saying Jesus is King.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Like the music. Vibe from faith. Blue. MP3.
