This is a great lens and it completes the essential "trinity" of Tamron lens covering 17-28, 28-70, and 70-180... which is just about perfect for a hobbyist or travel photographer that's hoping to produce nearly professional results.

This renewed lens appears brand new to me. Even the paper envelope enclosing the lens was on its first set of creases, all original documentation was enclosed, etc. Shoots great and seems fully functional... and it looks untouched.

Must have had a bad copy, because on my A7IV it was average at best while auto-focusing. I returned a recertified edition back to amazon.

I usually hesitate when buying renewed or refurbished products as i haven't always had much luck with them, but this came in original box and seemed untouched. After using the lens it definitely performed well and was great for interior building shots and even some culture shots. Definitely worth saving $$ to get a great lens.

I was a little nervous since they keep it so incredibly vague about the condition of the product, but since you can return it anyway I figured it was worth ordering to see how it turns out. To my pleasant surprised, the unit I received was in pristine original packaging including all of the paperwork, and the lens itself had absolutely no visible signs of use at all. I can't guarantee that's how each one comes, but I'd say if you are skeptical of this "renewed" program it is worth trying!

As for the lens, plenty of info out there from more knowledgable tech experts than me... but I LOVE the tamron zoom lenses. They are an insane value, I got the "trinity" of them and it cost about the same as one Sony GM lens. And if you travel with your gear a lot, the compact size is incredible too.

This is really an amazing lens- just what I was looking for. Tack sharp edge to edge, fast (f2.8) and LIGHT. I am so glad Amazon makes these available. Came in good condition in original box w lens hood. So far, so good. I bought it along with the 28-200 Tamron and feel I have a good, light, portable solution for travel and landscape. I got tired of lugging my Sony 70-200 2.8 and although its a great lens, I prefer to carry the Tamron when walking around all day.

I'm having to reevaluate my previous low opinion of Tameron lenses. After reading many buyer and professional reviews, and being assured a positive return policy, I decided to give the 17-28mm f/2.8 lens a try. I was looking for a light weight/compact wide angle walk-about pairing for my Sony a7 III. Although my past lens purchases have always been either Sony or Sigma the Tameron actually seemed to better fit the bill... the lower cost didn't hurt either. Anyway, the tests I've done so far show excellent results.

Incredible quality for the price

When I decided I needed to replace my 16mm and 30mm primes (both were APS-C Sigmas with f/1.4), I was really shocked by the prices of the options I had for full-frame alternatives. I'm a novice photographer, so I can hardly justify spending so much! That's why I decided to go with a single zoom lens instead... but they're still kind of pricey, so I went with something more on the budgety side of things.

Looking at reviews, build quality of Tamrons seems to be hit or miss... but I decided to take the plunge and I'm very happy with it. There's some vignetting, but it's not terrible, and the picture quality is still very good regardless! I miss the f/1.4 of my Sigmas, but f/2.8 is still reasonably good.

Este lente esta muy bueno para hacer video vlog. no es tan pesado lo cual hace que tu cámara no vaya tan alta de peso, me encanta la calidad que tiene y al ser 2.8 te desenfoca el fondo muy bonito. Si te gusta hacer video vlog esta opción es muy buena para ti, es mas económico que el Sony 16-35 y puedes comprar mas accesorios para tu cámara como un micrófono un filtro nd o una luz. Muy buen producto
