A mixed bag

Switched to this from a Lexar Professional card.

The good: "Hot Card" warnings absolutely stopped in a Nikon Z6ii.

The bad: Transferring images from the camera (with this card) to my PC takes FOREVER.

For the price, I really expected better. The hot card warnings I got from the Lexar card were a lot more bearable issue than the hours it takes to get images off the Pro Grade card.

So far working great. I’m able to record Nikon 8k raw to this without issue. Granted, I only get 3 minutes 30 seconds before the card’s full, but that’s my fault for buying the 165 gb card.

I got this to use with my Z9. I had been using XQD cards from my prior days but wanted something larger and faster. THIS is it! The only drawback is how expensive it is. Perhaps when it drops to under $100... THEN it will be a steal! ; )

I bought this because with my existing cards, in the Z9, I would sometimes exhaust the buffer (20 FPS HE*). Not often, though - the full-speed burst duration with even cheap cards like Pergears is still ~60.

And yes, it does yield noticeably longer full-speed bursts. So success. But it's very expensive, so you need to be really sure it's worth it. In retrospect, while I don't regret buying it per se, I think I probably could have gotten by with cheaper cards for now, and perhaps the cost of these high-performance cards will come down in time.

Of course, there's the possibility that this card will prove more durable and long-lasting. I hope so. Memory cards do tend to wear out over time, and cheaper ones tend to wear out faster - and slow down or even become unreliable. But I have no way to test that, short of waiting.

Product is fast at storing images. I would not get the larger size unless you really are doing extended captures like 3,000+ images. Using Nikon RAW compressed on a Z9, the item holds 3,300+ images. It is expensive but that what require for endless capture (10 minutes plus).

XQD and CF Express cards are so overpriced in my opinion, but it doesn't make sense to buy a camera that can shoot 30 RAW frames per second and then slow it down with a memory card that can't keep up. I'm hoping prices will come down on these things and I'll buy more when they do.

Whenever I try to access a photo on the card (Lightroom or Mac Finder), it causes the dreaded loading wheel of death and I'm forced to force quit. I'm using the ProGrade reader BTW. New Macbook Pro.
