I ordered a 9 because there was no 8.5. I usually wear a wide 8.5. I think they are cute. Once I got them on, they felt okay short term, but the ankle area was too narrow to slide in my foot without a lot of effort. Getting them off was harder than i wanted for the same reason. I think they are wide enough. They were also quite stiff, probably because they had delivered below freezing to the porch; however, while I don't need floppy boots, I think I will continue my search for a better overall match to what i'm wanting. With a Kohls not too far away, this, my first personal amazon return process, looks like it is going to be free and seamless, for which I am grateful. .
