First off, I looked at MANY coolers in and outside of Amazon before settling on this one. It is about the best value, for dual-climate control, for the money (providing it holds up). Amazon logistics did a great job delivering this via a box truck. It was packed very well and arrived undamaged.
A couple of valuable tips that I will pass along if you buy it. At first, I thought I had a dud and was dreading a return, but figured out the fix. The G/F pulled out a beer from the left side (bottom shelf) that was set at 35, but she said it was warm. Checking with a thermometer, indeed it was 50+, but right side with wine was at it set point and bottles were cool.....so what was the deal?? Read on,
After looking at things further, I had put the tallest cans of seltzer on the top shelf and packed it to the back of the shelf. When I did this, there was only about 1" free at the top and back where the fan is. This was where I FAILED!! There was not enough airflow and was causing it to be cold in the top (where thermostats is), but the bottom was warm as the cold air could not properly circulate.
Resolution? Leave room on the back of the top shelf so it is not too close to the fan or top (See pic with cans 2" open on top). I reloaded the fridge and left right side of the top shelf more open and it is working FLAWLESSLY now.
I have reason to believe this is why a couple of others has to return theirs due to "temperature swing" issues. Load it properly and should last a long time as it seems to be well built. Will update review should anything change in the future.
