*If you don't have a paella burner, be mindful of the size of your stovetop burners when you're choosing the size of pan to order - heat distribution is important! I think they say 15" is the biggest you'd want for stovetop cooking.

This is a typical looking paella pan with an enameled cooking surface that serves as a non-stick layer and makes it easy to clean without the fuss of rubbing oil on it like the steel ones. It looks sturdy and everything would be perfect if it had a flat bottom. However, it has a totally concave surface and only a little spot of its bottom is in contact with the stove, so forget about great heat distribution if you cook with an electric top stove, induction, or similar. Could work on a gas stove though and they should definitely advertise it.
I could cook a nice paella with it, but wouldn't recommend buying it

My first Paella pan and my first time making it... no complaints! The pan itself is perfect for a large dinner for 4. The enamel coating makes it easier to clean and I preserve the pan by storing it by itself with dish towels. Fantastic buy, will gift this (full of my best Paella of course) to someone beforeupgrading to a bigger one :)

-about my Paella: I didn’t do everything perfectly (forgot to pat dry the scallops and had to substitute Arborio :/ for Redondo rice and the peas at the end for display) but I got the socarrat right! The prep took the longest (maybe 40 mins) and cooking everything from the veggies and saffron to the seafood at the end, took maybe 30 mins. *** tip: I used 1/2 pound of chicken breasts, 1 pound of mussels, and 1/2 pound of bay scallops, next time I’d use just a 1/2 pound of mussels so not to overcrowd the pan.

Not Flat, Not For Stovetop.

Awesome on the grill. Good size for 4 servings and the final dish was terrific. But as others mention it is not flat, useless on the stovetop, I nearly burned a good paella trying to toast the socarrat on the stove as I have using other (flat bottomed) pans.

Good paella if you're using a grill, oven, or ring but they should include a disclaimer. I may try to pound it flat and see what happens.

Good value for the money, makes decent paella

I bought this pan when I caught an Amazon deal for $10.99 and decided what the heck. I have never made Paella, so I was unsure what to expect. As others have mentioned, the heat distribution was uneven and ended up burning the rice in sections of the pan where the liquid had boiled off. I was able to salvage the meal and discarded the burn bits. I will try the pan again and see if the heat distribution gets better with use. Otherwise, a nice-looking pan with a good coating.

I bought in Feb 21, initially it could cook eggs without sticking, but after about a month, it was back to soaking for days just like the other plethora of pans I have purchased which claimed to be non stick. I gave two stars for fast delivery and price, knocked off three stars because it has 8 chips in it and isn't non stick. (not sure why its chipping, its not like I'm throwing it at the walls) LOL

Stainless is better. I have a heavy bottom stainless and I thought I remembered my grandmother using an enamel one but it must have had a different quality. It took me twice as long to make the paella. I followed all the instructions for first time use and still when I cleaned it ended up removing a little of the enamel in the process it was so stuck. I have made paella that I cooked 3/4 on the stove and finished in the oven and might try this one for that but I honestly just recommend the heavy stainless steel ones.

This paella pan is great and at a fantastic value. It’s easy to clean and it’s easy to distribute food on this pan. You’ll have to use it a few times so it takes a natural form that will make the oil stay in the middle so the first or second time you may need to add more oil to make up for the initial flatness. I recommend this pan!

Nice big pan but not flat for even heat distribution. My first time using and the non stick didnt last during cooking, pan started scorching in particular areas and when washing you can see some areas still have a very thin coat of non stick and others are completely gone. This is a one time use pan!
