4.0 out of 5 starsMy First Cupcake/Muffin Safe!
Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2021
This AmazonCommercial Aluminum Muffin Pan is actually just as good for home use, and not just for the commercial baker. It's sturdier then any muffin pan I have in my arsenal currently, bakes anything I put in it nicely, and comes with a snap on lid to keep things fresh and free of critters. My issue, deepening on how you look at it, could be an issue, or an added feature, is the lid. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, it fits nice and tight and works exactly as it should. The problem, I found out after using it the first time to make some cupcakes, with gobs of buttercream icing, and snapped the lid on. After dinner, we couldn't take just looking at them any longer, and wanted to dig into them. Well, the lid fit so well, we couldn't get it off. I mean, it really stays on nicely, but there are no tabs, or handle, or anything to hold on to the pan and pull the lid off. By the time we got it off, the entire interior of the lid was covered with buttercream icing, which previously was on top of the cupcakes. I really like this pan, it cooks evenly, and cupcakes (and muffins, I've used it since the great initial debacle, I just don't use the lid) come out great, and it's easy enough to clean. So, we are trying to figure out how we can use the lid, without it become a cupcake/muffin safe, keeping out tiny hands, critters, and even adults who, in the end, are the ones it seems who lose their cool when it doesn't open, and will do whatever to crack open the cupcake/muffin safe, obviously leaving notice that someone was in there (you can not open this without the contents being severely disturbed), and then telling your other half they "didn't see a thing", with chocolate icing on their cheek and fingers. In any event, still a great pan for baking. Sells for $20.89 (as of this review, one pan with a lid), and a great buy for a pan this well made. Nice buy.
