Not too big, not too small.

I bought this to take along with the Osprey Porter bag that I've been traveling with the past few years because this Daylight Plus bag hits the sweet spot of taking a few thing out on a hike or around town (water bottle, light jack, umbrella), while the porter is just too big for my own taste to be used like that. I purchased the "plus" version because it was advertised as having a laptop sleeve/section the regular daylight doesn't. This has allowed me to use this daily when taking a laptop to work, so I'm getting that much more use out of the bag. My laptop (13 inches × 9 inches × 1 inch) fits perfectly. I don't think anything much bigger would fit. So in conclusion, it hits the sweet spot in size and function for me.

The shoulder straps are for women with narrow shoulders. There is not enough padding in the straps to comfortably support 4 L of water, lunch, a change of clothes, and emergency gear (although I think it all would fit.)
Keep this for an urban daypack.

Uncomfortable Bag

I REALLY wanted to like this bag after all of the great reviews I read on the older model, but this bag is so uncomfortable. I only had a hammock, snacks, two water bottles, and a book inside, and by the end of a two-hour hike, my back was aching and I couldn't wait to take the bag off. The shoulder straps have zero padding. I love the look of the bag but it's lacking in performance. Also, the "black" color is more of a very dark gray. It still looks nice though, but just FYI. I have an Osprey Fairview and I LOVE that bag. Very disappointed with this one though.

Bag seems solid like every Osprey bag is, however if this is the "all black" bag, it is definitely not as pictured. Not a huge deal, but the picture is very misleading from what actually arrived.

Fits everything! Used this for a 4 day trip. Here’s a list of things I was able to pack in this one backpack:
1 pair of PJs, jeans, sweatpants, a sweatshirt, 2 T-shirts, a thick beanie, a swimsuit, 1 dress, a handheld travel steamer, pair of heels, 4 day supply of socks and undergarments + extra, quart size bag of liquids, makeup bag, 2 brushes, curling iron, and a small purse full of kn95 masks. Water bottle and any other extras fit easily in the side pockets.
