I wanted to get a smaller size flat iron because I only use it for my bangs/fringe. I liked the sound of this one as it came with 3 temperatures (one of which I wanted, ~400 Fahrenheit although I usually use ~350, it has that one too). I also wanted something with ceramic plates versus titanium as I've felt like my hair glides better with ceramic- and that I've read that it heats up the hair from within, supposedly being less damaging? I've been on the search and find 1/2 plates somewhat hard to find at an affordable price.
Anyway- I opted for this one. I've attached before and after photos of the styling.
I did note my personal preference that I think it would be more comfortable to hold if the handle was half an inch to an inch longer as opening and closing it created a place for the end of iron to pinch my palm as I used it. I feel while this doesn't deter me from using it- it would just be nice to have that not be a problem or something I have to think about avoiding in the future (and it would keep the swivel part of the cord out of the way). Maybe someone with smaller hands wouldn't run into this problem? I do like though that its not huge where I would have to use two hands to operate by holding each end. I think added length to the plates as well by half an inch would be nice- but again- it still works well without it. The cord itself is 6ft and that's fine for my purposes.
I found it to heat up really fast as advertised- but just wanted to note the indicator for heating and then set temperature was odd to me. It is a stable light and then flashes (doesn't stop flashing) once its ready- I think it would make sense to function the other way around- but never the less- it works just fine!
Overall- I think its a worthwhile investment (I had a coupon so I think it was $17- for 3 temperature settings this seems about right for the price), as it functions really well despite my own opinion about the way its designed- I don't necessarily feel it takes away from its ability to work well or is SO problematic that I can't use it to its full potential. It did come with a glove which I don't think I'll need- unless maybe to keep my palm safe from pinching, lol!
I haven't had it for long at all- so we'll see how the longevity is, but I would give this 9/10.
