It makes my life easy by swapping my gimbal or iPhone cage from a monopod to a tripod.
Simple button release and slide lock to secure the gimbal and cage.

Its not that quick to insert the camera to the adapter

I upgraded from Peak Design since the PGY has a snap lock clamp with 1/4 screw hole that can be used for tripods, clamps other 1/4 screw accessories that can also be mounted to arca clamps.

This gives it a big advantage over PD since they only have the belt/bag clip and not the 1/4 screw mount plus the lower price

But its not as easy to clamp in the plate. You have insert the plate at a very specific position against the locking mechanism of the clamp or it wont lock into place.

That leads me to consciously look at the clamp to make sure i insert it at the correct position every time i clamp my camera.

Hoping it was easy to insert in any direction without looking

Still faster than screwing it in using a traditional arca clamp

I have two these one on each of my tripods and they just work. I have had them for quite some time and they have never given me any problems even with my heavier camera setup with telephoto lens attached. I also use the backpack mounting plate as well with no issues. The quick release and easy locking mechanism makes it great for quick release and setup.

Great tripod mounting solution however it does not work with peak design “capture” plate

I bought this product to be used with the peak design capture plate so that I can quickly put my camera on my tripod and carry it on my shoulder strap, the plates for the two devices are the same size and if not for a small bump in the middle of the base this would totally work, I may try to grind that bump down or something in the future but I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet that the two products had been tested together. So now it’s done, conclusion… it could work.

That said using it for what it’s intended. It’s superb, nice button feel the lock works the connection between the base and the plate is tight and solid and it’s just an overall great product. So if you love tripods and find yourself using them often and maybe have gloves on or just hate your current mounting solution this is a perfect option!

(I do know that PGY tech offers the beetle clip which is similar to the peak design capture and I imagine works flawlessly with this mount, but I use a satchel type camera bag so I wanted the strap mount to be lower profile than the beetle clip. Thus my arrival at the capture.)

I already own the beetle clip from pgytech and this quick release accessory was a great compliment to that.

I was considering just getting another plate but saw this on sale and am glad i got this instead. I use it on a tripod and it allows me to quickly release my mirrorless camera so I can use it as a webcam and take it on the go conveniently.

An affordable competitor to 'the other' quick release plate maker

I was looking at 'the other' quick release plate maker known for its quality products and sleek designs. I couldn't bring myself to pay that much when I could just deal with the one my tripod came with. Then I came across this product. It is basically half the price of the one I was looking at before, and it seemed to be almost identical.
I purchased two sets. I placed one base on the head of my tripod and the other on the camera mounting point of a quick release shoulder strap I recently purchased. I placed the quick plates on my camera body (in its cage) and on the foot of my long lens. This allows me to move freely between both while maintaining a safe center of balance for the weight of the gear.
It truly is a quick release. You simply slide it in at an angle until the metal stopper clicks into place over the plate, then slide the button to the side to lock it into the base. To release the plate, you slide the button back into the unlock position, push it in and lift the plate out of the base. Very straightforward. The small loops in the corners are perfect for adding a safety tether if you choose (which I did.) The screw that secures the plate to your gear appears to be made of high quality material that should last for a long time.
I did some testing with one of the plates/bases before I put my actual gear on them. It passed with flying colors. I was worried that with such a small footprint it wouldn't be sufficient, but I was wrong. This handles my mirrorless camera with a cage, mic, two handles, top light, SSD and long lens with ease and stability. I haven't tried it yet, but I believe it will handle the addition of my small monitor as well. Yeah, it's that secure.
If you want to streamline your loadout without breaking the bank, this is the way to go.

I was comparing this and the Falcam F38 system and went with this. The PGYTech beetle backpack strap device rocks and is the best design on the market in terms of looks, functionality and ease of swapping between different straps. The item has a bluish tone to it; like an anodized finishing and is not black. It was a pleasant surprise. The nut part locks into place so once you secure the position of the mount and start to turn the screw, it won't twist on you. Awesome.

Compact, mounts directly on a broad flat surface

This quick-release was ideal for my binoculars on a big astro U-mount. RC2-type clamps would need extra hardware to get clearance for the release lever. This PGYTECH mounts directly on a broad flat surface. The release button is easy to operate while reaching in under the binoculars. It is compact, adds minimal height to the setup. PGYTECH chose to use a button for the release. Good choice. In tight space, button is easier than lever.

Sliding the release button sideways locks the button, preventing accidental button press. The button lock is just for the button. Locking the button does not affect the plate lock. The plate can snap in if button is locked with the base empty. After the plate is snapped in, there is no way that force on the plate can open the latch.

Great little device.. but a little loose.

This was exactly what I needed, which was just the release plate for my DJI RS3 Mini. It works perfectly for that, but the receiver plate on my tripod leaves a bit to be desired. While it works, the plate has a little play in it when locked in and there's no screw to tighten it. But it works perfectly in the RS3 Mini, which is why I got it in the first place. So thank you!

Amazing Product...But I have Peak Design

This is exactly what I was looking for, but unfortunately, this is not compatible with my Peak Design plates. If you're starting out to build your system, this is a great option and a supportive ecosystem. I have two Peak Design clips and have invested $150 in those two clips and I can't justify buying a PYGTECH's strap clip and eating the cost of not using the PD Clips. If I had known about this brand before buying my PD Clips, I would've bought into this brand. I started with their tripod (Amazing) and was eyeing their shoulder strap.

AGAIN, IF YOUR STARING OUT, this is a solid purchase and brand.
