How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

If you need a strong (1200+ watt) power supply Gigabyte will serve you well. We use their 850 watt units for our "normal" builds and often will use the 900 watt silver for a little more power and still remain economic. Most of our builds are high-end so normally will will use the platinum/titanium version of any brand PSU. This is one of the better high wattage units we have seen. Be careful with it as the PSU side of the main motherboard cable is unique to this unit and then merges into a "regular" 24 pin plug for your motherboard, so don't substitute a 24 pin cable you have laying around.

One caveat - I would not recommend using anything below 16 Gauge cables for these higher wattage PSUs. Not every maker supplies that gauge cables as most will give you 18 gauge. I did notice with a 1600 watt Evga we just used those cables were 16 gauge. We often get custom length/color cables for our builds so it has not been much of an issue with us.

i have more than 25 years of experience building computers, not just regular low budget affordable pcs but high end extreme systems, i bough this power supply and i had it sitting on the box waiting for all the parts to arrive to finallly build an office system, when i finally recived the last part today after i installed everything, surprise, no post, put and old generic power supply and system post, so i replace and old power supply that works for a new power supply that doesn’t work, how nice

seller offer a full refund
that might sound good right?
except that what are the odds of 2 diferent motherboards
burning the memory modules
what they have in common?
well i installed the power on a new build and it burned my ram
don’t think i made a mistake, it was 2 brand new modules
so i went and got the system that i was using previously
before the new parts arrived for the new build
that system was working perfectly fine for months
guess what
i just try the power supply in that board and it also burned the ram on that board
i went got another pair of ram
change the gigabyte power supply for the old one
everything works
is not a faulty product, is really a bad product no doubt
not worth having a product that can damage your expensive computer parts

What can you say about a PSU. It works, it did not catch fire and the fan noise is very low. I used it in a mini-ITX Ryzen 7 5700g build and it is really a bit of overkill. But it was available and not at a a premium price.
Nor five stars because the price for a PSU like this to get five it would also have to be cheaper.

5.0 out of 5 stars The First and Only PSU available with a 12+4 pin PCIe connector.

Gigabyte UD1000GM PG5, it appears to be a good working PSU, not really 3.0 ATX compatible but it is actually the First and Only Power Supply Unit available with a 12+4 pin PCIe connector, connectable to an 3090Ti Card, as I was looking for a new 5.0 gen PSU. I've been using this low cost PSU in my pc for about over two months now and have had no problems.

Gigabyte doesn’t have a great rep when it comes to PSUs but I am pretty sure this one is safe. The fan in mine is a little noisy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wires Cables and Cords
Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2021

Wires Cables and Cords. Not sure why there is no pictures of them but here they are all in their glory. I forgot to measure the length but for me they were plenty long enough. I have an archaic system with 2 SATA drives and a DVD burner so there were a lot of cables left over that zip tied and tucked away in a cubby hole above the drives. I was getting BSOD with so many different errors I knew it was hardware and decided to start with the power situation first. So far so good. This thing is either real quiet or my other one was loud but I can not hear anything at all down there. I think I am going to order another one to park on a shelf just because. Now to look into surge protectors since mine obviously is not doing it's job anymore.
