How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat product for a clogged print head
Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2023
Our printer stopped printing in correct color - magenta wasn’t working. Thought we were going to have to purchase a new printer. After research, I found this product that did the trick. It took awhile, but eventually the problem was solved. The printer is back to normal and I still have more solution to use if needed. No new printer - just a little mess to deal with during the cleaning process.

1.0 out of 5 starsDidn’t work for me
Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2024
I tried to revive an old printer. The process is very messy and I was only able to get one of the colors to actually clean up enough to work. After several attempts and couple hours I gave up and tossed the printer in the trash along with the cleaner. Was worth the try I guess but in the end it just didn’t work for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great. Plan on multiple rounds of the fluid through nozzles.. 30-60 mins & back printing!
Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2024

* Worked for cleaning the printhead on our WF-7710
* Required 2-3 syringes worth of fluid per nozzle
* Did not require actually removing the printhead (just use paper towel underneath the carriage/printhead
* look up how to videos on YT, particularly if you have an sublimation type printer (apparently these are prone to getting clogged printheads due to the ink/adhering method)
* one video suggests warming the liquid
* another video suggests you might leave the rubber tube attached to the nozzle for some time (probably for the detergent to work at breaking down the build up?
* BCHTechnologies on YT has a video that explains in detail why sublimation printers clog

even after running the fluid through the nozzles I was still getting poor print quality. it improved after running a few test sheets but still wasn't back to 100%. I ran 2 or 3 print head cleaning cycles on the machine after this, and eventually got back to satisfactory print quality!

Took about an hour overall but will probably take half that time for me in the future now that I know it will take multiple rounds of fluid and print head cleanings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Did not work as well as I hoped.

I used this to clean the print head in an Epson WF-7520. The kit has a lot of useful parts except for the plastic hose. It did not fit anything very well and would not fit at all on the syringe. The solvent worked reasonably well but did not completely unplug the yellow nozzle. Once I removed the print head from the printer it was much easier to clean. However, the print head still does not work right and leaves vertical lines on the print. I am not sure if that is the fault of the kit or if the print head is just past its useful life. The kit worked as expected but was not a miracle cure.

This is a follow up to my original post. The vendor sent me a note and offered to give me a refund since I was not successful using the kit. He suggested a different cleaning method to try. I thought this was a very generous offer on his part. I have added a star to my first rating because of the good customer service. (The kit worked well enough for me that I think that a refund is not necessary).

5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my HP 8600 OfficeJet Printer.
Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2024

Trying to revive some color inkjet printers that failed to print all of the colors.
Purchased this kit and crossed my fingers.
Kit seems complete and the instructions are included.
When you open up the box there is a nice large bottle of cleaner, disposable gloves, wipes, syringe, tube and 3 tips to connect to different printheads. Be careful and separate all of the components to set everything up, I almost misplaced the tiny tip that I needed to fit onto the syringe and tube.

Luckily my HP 8600 Officejet Printer has a removable printhead so this whole process was easier for me to do. First I removed the printhead and placed it in my kitchen sink. Then I formed my plan for the cleaning attack.

Planning the operation:
The syringe needed to be attached to the tube via the smallest tip, then attach the tube to the little inkjet cartridge inlet nozzle on the printhead. That was my plan and I was sticking to it but now how to get the cleaning solution into the syringe. The plunger does not fully come out of the syringe. Hmmm OK for tube cleaning I will clean off the tube each time with plain water before inserting into the bottle of cleaning solution. So remove the tip & tube from the syringe and rinse it with water and also pull the plunger to get air inside of the syringe. Then reattach the tube to the syringe and push the plunger so air pushes out any water from the rinsing. This allowed me to insert the clean tube back into the bottle for more cleaning solution. I did not want to contaminate the syringe/tube or the bottle of cleaning solution.

Begining the cleaning process: Syringe full of fluid, tube attached to the black cartridge printhead nozzle and slowly inject the solution through the printhead. I had to run a little cold water from the water faucet since the ink that comes out is thick and plentiful. I injected enough until the liquid came out cleaner. I carefully and surgically rinsed off the ink left off the printhead. Then I removed the tip & tube from the syringe to get some air inside so I could force any cleaning solution out of the nozzle chamber. Again I carefully and surgically rinsed off the ink left off the printhead.
I performed the tube cleaning procedure I describe above and then repeated cleaning for all of the other printhead cartridge nozzles.

Wiped off the printhead, reinserted it back into my printer, installed new cartridges and printed out some pages!

I believe that you might have to a different plan for the cleaning of your printheads possibly using the other included tips.

My printer is now printing all of the colors!

I watched a few Y-tube videos on how to use a kit like this for my model of printer and followed their instructions. It worked out great and I was able to restore normal function. There is enough left over for several more cleanings if needed. As far as I'm concerned this saved me from having to buy a new printer. I am very happy with the results.

3.0 out of 5 stars Barely Usable

Zero instructions for any brother printer. Managed to clean 3 of the 4 colors successfully but then on #4, the yellow rubber adapter developed a leak and would not hold pressure so I could not flush the magenta. I’ve been in IT for 26 years and have been cleaning both inkjet and toner based printers and copiers for a good portion of that time. This kit is cumbersome to use mainly because there just aren’t the right attachments. Would not recommend.

UPDATE: Seller contacted me, inquired on my exact issues and not only listened to my concerns, but also gave me a refund, no questions asked so I have up'd my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. It's hard to find a good vendor with good customer service these days!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product but very small cleaning cloths

Great product but the 3 cloths it comes with are very small 6"x5" and don't fit in the had very well. Cleaning solution is great but enough to last 3 lifetimes. How about selling less cleaner and increase the size of the cleaning cloths.
