Cleaning kit disabled printer head assembly

I have used these types of printer head cleaning kits before on an Epson printer, but used an absorption pad under the printer head assembly while still in the printer (unplugged obviously) and it worked great. After several attempts to use the head cleaning and alignment tools HP provides on their Pro 8600, I decided a real cleaning was necessary to get back to normal printing quality.
This vendor provides very minimal instruction for use and so I relied on an online video which recommended gently removing the printer head assembly and flushing the cleaning solution through the heads inside a bucket. That process went as well as expected, but obviously can result in exposure of electronics to liquid. I allowed the head assembly to dry 24 hours before reassembling the unit but, I got an error message that the ink or printing system is not functioning. HP instructions to unplug and reboot the printer were unsuccessful. Although HP does recommend you install all brand new cartridges when you reassemble (of course they do!) I was hesitant to throw away cartridges with 50%+ ink in them!
While I wait for my order of new cartridges to arrive I am considering a method of cleaning contacts on the processing board of the printer head assembly. This is not the fault of the cleaning kit (except for minimal instructions), but a warning to anyone attempting to use kits like this.

My EPSON WF-7720 printer had stopped printing colors, just in black. I took a shot with this printhead cleaning kit, figured what could it hurt? It worked! and now I can print photos again.
3 stars for easy to use because the included instructions were not clear. The photos are too small to see detail of how to attach syringe, or how to free up the print cartridge, or how to place paper toweling to catch the fluid as it flushed through. The kit includes several different tips and requires trial and error to find the best fit. I had to do an online search for videos to help and I was able to find step by step instructions, some for my exact model, others more general but with helpful tips. I spent about 45 minutes working on the cleaning process. I hope to ward off future issues by exercising the printer more often. But if it stops working again, I know how to take care of it.

Messy but works

I got this because the yellow print head on my Epson printer was clogged, and was printing irregular lines. The syringe is sturdy and allowed me to push with enough forse on the pluger to force the solution through. There is also plenty of solution to flush all the print heads.

TIP: Put a CLOTH towel or rag under the print head to catch the water, dont use paper, it will disintegrate and will trip out your paper jam sensors. This was my case. Also pour the solution that you plan to use into a different cup, so that you dont contaminate with other ink colors.

It does what you need to, but if you have never done this before, be careful you can ruin your printer.

Any video as how to remove the printhead was just about worthless as the instructions with the product. I was on my own. it was a Canon G2260 with a 5200-error code. My best guess is that the color print head was clogged because I just print B&W. I was on my own, screws had to be removed. For the audience here remove the cap to the cleaner there is a fitting that will fit in the top of the bottle the cap will go over it to re-deal it. Squirt just a small amount in every port them the syringe has a yellow adaptor that is hard at first to get on. force air into each port ink will come out do it about 15 times or till little ink comes out clean off all the excess ink and off the electrical connection too. the printer now works no 5200 error code !

This was my last try to revive my dead EPSON WF 2750 but no adverse comment for this manufacturer as it stood in storage without cartridges for 2 years.... My 17 years old other EPSON C88 still works almost 100% fine but only in B&W mode as it lost magenta for good!!!!!

I have an epson ET2800 which quit printing altogether. It was difficult to use this as I had to you tube it to find directions for the solution. But after a few tries of flushing, I'm printing again. All I have to say is make sure you print something once a week because this ink dries out and clogs.
