My camera fell off my tripod and bent the ring in a typical manner. This tool allowed me to push the threads of the filter ring back out and then by spinning the tool I was able to align the threads enough to put a UV filter on the lens (something I should have done a long time ago)! Unfortunately I didn’t take a “before” picture but here you can see the that the bend is gone and the threads are lined up. Also, I’m including a photo of what it looks like now with a UV filter for protection.

The spammer is vital for any vintage camera buff and the built in thread/rim straightener is much higher quality than my old one. I have a few old Mamiya TLR lenses that it’s going to get used on very soon.
Update: the spanner works well but won’t lock into place like every other spanner I’ve used. So beware.

Ich bin begeistert von dem NEEWER Kameraobjektiv Werkzeugsatz, den ich für meine Sammlung von alten und neuen Objektiven gekauft habe. Der Werkzeugsatz ist aus Metall gefertigt und sehr stabil und präzise. Er hat flache und spitze Spitzen, die für verschiedene Arten von Objektivringen geeignet sind. Die Backenöffnung ist von 10 bis 90 mm verstellbar, was für die meisten Objektive und Filter ausreicht.

Der Werkzeugsatz ist sehr einfach zu bedienen, man muss nur die passende Spitze auswählen, die Backenöffnung einstellen und den Ring vorsichtig drehen. Der Werkzeugsatz hat mir geholfen, einige beschädigte Gewinde von meinen Objektiven zu reparieren und einige festsitzende Filter zu entfernen. Er hat auch eine universelle Gewindesteigung von 0,75 mm, die für die meisten Objektive und Teleskope geeignet ist.

Der Werkzeugsatz ist sehr kompakt und kommt mit einer praktischen Aufbewahrungsbox. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dieser Bestellung und kann den NEEWER Kameraobjektiv Werkzeugsatz jedem empfehlen, der seine Objektive pflegen und reparieren möchte.

This is a fairly precision tool that might be vital if you need to take a lens apart or rescue some slightly dodgy threads (it won't work miracles!) For instance if you have started putting on a filter and cross-threaded it slightly it should be possible to rescue it with this, but only if the damage is light - it won't recut a thread!
Construction
The tool is nicely made with two bracing rods to stop it flexing when using it to turn a locking ring on a lens. The interchangeable jaws open to a maximum of 90mm, which should be enough for the biggest lens. Two sets of jaws are supplied, one set pointed tips and the other set more like a screwdriver blade. The ends of the jaws are squared off to stop them from rotating in the holes once nipped up with the allen screw bolts.
Conclusion
A sturdy and well-made tool, which you might not use a lot but when you need it you need it. Could also be used to remove the screw backs of watches too!

Jeder Fotograf, der Auschraubfilter an seinen Objektiven nutzt, kennt das Problem, dass sich ab und an die Filter einfach nicht mehr lösen lassen. Egal ob man sie einfach zu fest angezogen hat, ein Staubkörnchen stört oder die Filter einfach alt und das Gewinde nicht mehr sauber läuft, so was kommt früher oder später vor.

Bisher habe ich normales Werkzeug und Tools genutzt. Von Tüchern angefangen, bis zur Kneifzange, ich habe schon alles versucht. Oft funktioniert es damit, manchmal macht man auch den Filter kaputt.

Mit diesem Tool gelingt das Lösen von festgefressenen Filtern ohne Schäden zu verursachen und viel schneller, als bisher.

Das Tool ist sauber verarbeitet und praktisch umgesetzt. Die „Zangen“ können von 10 - 90 mm verstellt werden und passen somit auf nahezu alle Filterdurchmesser.

Es gibt eine spitze und eine breite Seite, so dass man frei entscheiden kann, wie man zum Lösen des jeweiligen Problems vorgehen möchte.

Im praktischen Einsatz hat sich dieses Tool schon mehrfach als sehr gut erwiesen. Dieses Tool ist zum Standard in meiner Fototasche geworden. Nehme ich Filter mit, so nehme ich auch dieses Werkzeug mit.

Der Preis wirkt etwas zu hoch, allerdings gibt es immer mal wieder gute Rabattangebote. Außerdem ist das Tool eine einmalige Anschaffung, wohingegen ein zerstörter Filter ggf. direkt viel teurer wäre.

Ich vergebe hier die Maximalpunktzahl von fünf Sternen. Super Empfehlung des Monats.

Danach hab ich wirklich lange gesucht. Bisher hatte ich zum Aufdrehen meiner Kamera-Objektive immer ein extrem fummeliges Werkzeug was ständig auseinander ging und bei fest angedrehten Gewinden regelmäßig die Oberfläche zerkratzte. Der NEEWER Kamerasatz ist deutlich einfacher zu bedienen, einmal die richtige Breite eingedreht, wackelt oder verrutscht da gar nichts mehr. Ich bin mehr als zufrieden und es vereinfacht die Reparatur von verharzten Objektiven deutlich. Ich bin einfach kein Fan davon, teure Optiken zu entsorgen. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist top! Von mir gibt es daher eine klare Kaufempfehlung!

This Camera Lens Vice Repair Tool (Model No. HW-27) arrives in a plain brown, NEEWER branded cardboard box. Inside is the vice, 4 x tips, 4 x screws, Hex key, 2 x cleaning cloths, and a User Manual.

The all metal vice is very well made and has a good finish throughout. Made of aluminium alloy, it feels very robust whilst remaining lightweight. The clamp on the vice works smoothly, and is easy to turn.

The curved ‘jaws’ on the front and back of the vice have different diameters, but the same 0.75m thread. This allows them to be used to restore the damaged threads on a large variety of different lenses, step-up/step-down rings, or other similar equipment, with a diameter size of ø22mm to ø105mm.

There are four pins (2 x pointed, 2 x flat head) that can be attached to the vice, in order to allow you to also use it as a lens spanner. These pins are held in place by four screws that are tightened/loosened using the included hex key.

In use the vice worked well. I only needed it for the spanner side of thing right now, and in that mode it did a good job. Whilst I had no threads to restore, I did try the vice in a variety of lenses and it fit well, and gave me no reason to believe that it wouldn’t do the job it is intended for. Having removable pins also proved handy as it meant that I can store the vice in a much smaller space than I’d be able to if they were permanently affixed.

The User Manual is well written and has useful photographs to demonstrate how to assemble and use the tool. My only complaint is that the text and diagrams are a little on the small side..

All-in-all this is a very useful tool should you find yourself in need of having to repair your lens. It’s well made, works as intended and should last a long time. The listed price of £44.99 is perhaps a little high, but at the time of this review (July 2023) there is a 20% off voucher, making it a much more reasonable £35.99.
