How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsFits perfect!

Was a bit hesitant considering the other option was quite a bit more $, went for it anyway. It fits perfect, looks great and the added shutter button is a great touch. So happy I took the risk and went with this handle, the Nikon ZF needs this!!!

2.0 out of 5 starsNot as Good as Small Rig
Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2024
I had read a review from someone who stated this grip was far better than the Small Rig that can be purchased for the Nikon Zf. Well, it is not.

It is well made but the grip is very slick and difficult to hold onto. The reviewer even stated the grip was deeper than the Small Rig. It is not. It is identical in size.

I sent it back. Amazon is always great about returns and it was easy to do. Thank you Amazon

Looks guhd. Feels Guhd. Works Guhd. Really good price ($20). Makes your Zf look like an F3. Cool stuff. Soft release button is a nice touch. Not a fan of the aperture design on top. Rather have it with nothing on there but the button is solid. If you own a Zf you should really get this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does not fit Peak Design tripod
Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2024

The bottom plate is arca Swiss cut, but it is too wide to fit on the peak design tripod.

Otherwise it works perfectly, it also comes with a shutter button so it’s really 2 for 1 price

I bought the small rig grip first, but wasn't happy with it. I'm so glad I found this grip. So much better and makes a big difference if you are holding the zf for multiple hours. Love the included shutter button, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent addition to the Nikon Zf

This Neewer grip changes the feel of the Nikon Zf for the better. I like the Zf a lot, but a bit deeper grip improves how I handle it. I'm glad I got this!

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I have been using my Nikon ZF with the Small Rig grip accessory since I got the camera. I find a grip add-on is a necessity for the ZF if you shoot with heavy lenses. I decided to try this Neweer grip for comparison. The Neweer grip is nicely made and has a D-screw for attaching the grip onto the camera body. I much prefer this to requiring a tool or coin (who carries money anymore?) to tighten the screw. With the grip attached I have a very confident one-hand hold of the Zf. I like the fact that this grip extends about 1/8 inch farther than the Small Rig I have been using. I only wish they had used a softer material like the silicone used on the Small Rig as this grip is just a little bit slippery. It's also a nice touch to provide the brass soft release button. I think however the button should be red as then it would coordinate nicely with the red accent stripe (see picture shown with my red soft release button on the camera).

Pros
- well built
- uses D-screw for screwing mount onto camera
- allows battery/memory card access without removal
- Arca Swiss quick release plate attaches easily to compatible tripods
- Grip extends a good distance, allowing me to gain good purchase with my fingers
- Included brass soft release button

Cons
- the surface of the grip is a little slippery, especially as compared with the Small Rig which has a rubbery feel

Note, I did not test the tripod compatibility as I don't have an Arca Swiss quick release tripod.

I would give it 4.75 stars if I could. I can't give 5 stars with the "almost perfect" headline.

[Edit] I noticed one other little nit with this Neweer grip that I want to mention. The grip part is a smidge too tall which makes it difficult to access the front control wheel which sits just above the top of the grip. It would have been better to make the grip about 1/8" shorter to give room for your finger to center itself on the control wheel. As it is you are forced to use the bottom edge of your finger to move the wheel, which I find difficult to do.

Gives the Zf an F3 feel. The grip is just enough to balance heavier lenses like the Voigtlander 50/1 or 24–120.

Fantastic.

I have both the one that was released with the Z f (wont mention the brand) and the Neewer Z f handgrip. I like them both but I must say the Neewer looks that much better with the red accent line. Reminds me of the F3 and really adds a distinct look to the Nikon Z f.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware if you plan to attach other plates at bottom
Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2024

The grip looks well made and I do like the red accent line (and the soft shutter button should have been red too, not brass). However, there are a few design issues that I must point out. The first is that the thickness of the plate makes it harder to take the SD card out of the slot (I've heard the same complaint from the other brand available). The second issue is that the 1/4" holes at the bottom of the plate are not well positioned so if you want to add another QR plate or l-bracket to it, the plate will not be properly aligned with the center of the camera and the lens. Lastly, and this is personal, if you have smaller hands the grip is a bit too chunky to be comfortable and I find the camera better without it.
