Made with BPA-free plastic, this flip lid fits on any size canning jar with a regular (not wide-mouth) opening. Included is a rubber gasket/washer which creates a tight, but not 100% leak-proof, fit. Installed, the lid has a two inch opening and is quite sturdy. I do a lot of canning and because I have the jars around it is natural to incorporate them as inexpensive receptacles for pantry storage. Currently different size jars are holding dried peas, rice, corn starch, citric acid, popcorn, etc. Normally for a lid, I simply use a fresh metal canning ring and seal.A dozen of the two-piece lids is comparable in price to a single one of these. So, although this product offers a more convenient, faster-to-open alternative to my current method, it also has a significantly higher cost. Ultimately this is a solution for a problem I do not have and at a cost I cannot justify.

    Really like this product. I use it as a lid for my homemade toilet cleaner - wonderful to be able to just flip the lid, shake and close rather than having to unscrew the jar and risk spilling the stuff all over the place!

    I use them on some of the items in my pantry. They are more convenient that unscrewing the regular lids.

    I've used them for about 2 years and they seem to work well.

    They look good, too. My colors are sea foam, sea blue with oil-rubbed bronze accents. These work nicely on my countertops or in the pantry. They seal well, too.

    Love these. I like using mason jars for storing food. This works great. I used two of them with the shaker attachments, for sugar and sugar substitute shakers. Very cute way to store. I also used one for peanuts, love that I don't have to take the whole cap off to have a handful of peanuts. I need to order a couple more, so I can have a jar of cashews and one of almonds.

    I bought two of these to use with the canning accessory kit. The plastic tops are great for bath products, as the metal ones are likely​ to rust. These are very well made and fit perfectly with the canning add-ons. I don't know as I would use these for dressings. I think the reCAP with a spout is better for that.
