The case is built well and looks to be pretty near waterproof. Solid hard plastic and seems to hold it nicely and steadily. The real issue I have with it is internally...the software. It has to be used with the iBike app(s) to be functional, it's not like I could swap it out and use Wahoo Fitness or RunKeeper or something else and still track anything but GPS. Plus I had to sync with their software on my computer, something that looked to be a good twenty or so years behind everyone else. So three stars for the solid case, but I would have kept it (I returned it) if I could have used other apps with it.

I didn't quite understand how it would all come together and work, so I just had to trust a little bit. Once I got it, though, It has exceeded my expectations. There's a thin plastic over the touchscreen which is fully functional. Literally just plug it in and it starts working. Mount everything to your bike and you'll be off. There's a cool quick release and safety screw to easily and quickly remove the iBike from the bike mount so you don't have to worry about leaving it when you run into a store or something. So far I love.

Okay...I tried to like this product. However, there were the following problems:

1. The mount is poorly made and I could not get all the screws to set so the mount tended to move around.
2. When you are finished with a ride, you must e-mail the ride file to yourself.
3. The display is hard to see in sunlight and the iTouch I was using lasted only 2 hours with wifi turned off.
4. Removing my iTouch from the mount case was extremely difficult. I had to unscrew the insert several times.

Here is the ultimate killer:

5. When riding on a day in the desert at 102F, my iTouch gave me a heat warning and shut down. Since I live in the desert, this product will then be worthless during any summer daytime ride.

Got the i-bike dash cc today from amazon. All I can say is what a disappointment .It arrived with a scratched screen. Also It only came with this huge bar mount .Not the steer tube mount I guess you have to read the small print to see that .I was also expecting a battery ,again (small print).
Also its very hard to line up my iphone 4 with the jack even with the proper foam pieces. Also you need a headphone jack option. I thought I could drill one but the clip would be in the way. Bluetooth headphones are terrible and just add another battery to charge.thanks for listing to my rant.I really wanted to like this product ,so I wouldn't have to carry my edge 800 and my iPhone.
But sending back

I purchased this unit with high hopes, as I wanted to use my iPod Touch with it. All went well until I had to attach the transmitting unit on the bottom fork. I didn't get a signal so I opened the cover on the unit and the teeny piece of plastic holding it in snapped, making the entire unit inoperable. I didn't force anything but simply turned the cover with a coin as indicated in the directions. I was totally surprised and when I looked at the cover I could see that it was poorly made. I guess I should have paid more attention to a review here that said something similar. If they would fix that component I would consider buying a new unit because I think this is a great idea!

I was looking for a bike mount for my iPhone. I ride about 100 miles per week and wanted to use my phone as my bike computer. I wanted to also connect my phone to my speed/cadence sensor as well. I bought this and the Wahoo Fitness Bike Case to try out. The iBike case lost - big time.

Reasons why I disliked the iBike:
1) Only mounting option is the stem cap. It stuck up 3 or 4 inches and it was a pain in the butt to get the phone off and on. Definitely not made by a bike friendly company.
2) The screen opening on the iBike is too small. It blocks the sensor on the iPhone that reads ambient light and turns off the screen. Impossible to read the screen.
3) No headphone access.
4) This only works with iBike's crappy app. No MapMyRide. Also, Wahoo Fitness's app is 10000x better.
5) Just feels and seems cheap.
6) Expensive - about $100 more than Wahoo Case for inferior product.

I really wanted to like this product but it was impossible to. I don't think people who designed this were cyclists.
