This printer is excellent! A real workhorse. Never been disappointed with a brother printer yet!

This printer is amazing. We bought it 6 years ago and it's worked perfectly the whole time (including being transported through 3 house moves). It prints wirelessly and uses a reasonable amount of toner. The print quality is great. We simply don't need anything else in a printer (well, having one that was a bit smaller would be nice, but for us that's a minor concern).

I assume people would buy newer models now, but I wanted to mention the great experience we had with this one as a vote of confidence in the brand.

I am still on the original toner. Wish I had got away from ink a long time ago.

Purchased in 2011. Needed duplex printing, and color, and laser since I did not want regular ink to dry out. Just now coming up on 8500 pages, and other than replacing the toner a few times, no issues at all. A true workhorse. Too bad the newer replacements seem to not be as good.

Will continue using this guy until he dies.

An excellent printer. We've used for multiple RFPs printing over 1000 pages in a single day. Flawless. Only downside is toner cost... but that is same for any brand.

Toner gets out of cartridge too easy and makes copies have marks on them.

This is my second Brother color laser printer. I also have two HL 2270 B&W laser printers. The 4570 worked well for about a year and a half of pretty low volume use (this is in my home office). Then the print quality began to decline so I replaced all the toner cartridges, which is an expensive undertaking. This worked for about a week before quality again started to head south. Now I'm guessing I have to replace the drum unit which is not going to happen. When the cost of "consumable" has exceeded the original cost of the unit or the cost of a part (drum) will exceed 50% of the original cost, I'm done. These are cheap machines with cheap parts without even the most modest durability. Frankly, if you need color in low volume, go inkjet - they are not any more durable, but the consumables will be much less costly.

We used this printer for at least 5 years and we had kind of a love/hate relationship with it. On the one hand, it never broke down. That is really great. When a printer part comes to the end of its life, the printer will tell you to replace it. This is about the only good thing about this printer. It's a little slow. If you run an envelope through it, it makes the envelope seal part way so you have to rip it back open. As I was looking to replace this printer, I found out that this printer tells you to replace cartridges based on number of pages printed rather than based on the toner level, so the cartridge could still be full, but they will tell you to replace it anyway. I wish I had known that. Our office didn't use that much color but it was baffling how we had to replace all the cartridges at the same time. The toner for this printer was cheaper than the toner for the HP printer I was looking at. I thought I was saving money going with Brother, but I was wrong. I'm sure we ended up spending more even if we consider the number of repairs we would have had to put in on an HP printer. I am back to using an HP printer.
