Simply the BEST Phantom After Story,

This review is from: Phantom Madness (Paperback)
Granted, I love Sadie Montgomery's writing. I gobbled up the first four books in her 'Phoenix' series as soon as they were off the presses. I've read a lot of Phantom fiction. Some of it is good, some really bad. But this particular story is so wonderfully told! And when I heard Sadie was writing yet another book, I was thrilled! I pulled out the first four volumes and re-read them back to back as a prequel for the new story. This new chapter in the lives of Erik and Meg flows seamlessly from the first works, and adds new colors and feelings to the lives and relationships of her characters. Sadie's writing is well thought out. She so obviously puts herself in the shoes of her characters and thinks about how their reactions would really be in the situations they find themselves. Their responses are real and human, and the story takes on a tone of deep emotion and maturity. I think Sadie has taken a bold risk with the storyline in Phantom Madness. Themes of love, respect, betrayal, honesty and friendship are stretched to the limit, with the outcome being a deep learning experience for not only the characters in her book, but for the reader as well. I didn't think I could possibly enjoy this book as much as the others, but it is, in fact, my favorite because it IS so bold. I would strongly recommend the entire 'Phoenix of the Opera' series to any Phantom fan. Even if you have a hard time envisioning Erik and Meg together, read this series with an open mind. Sadie gives our beloved characters a vibrant and beautiful, although turbulent existence. But then, this is The Phantom of the Opera, right? Would you expect less??
