I liked this story - and I think that for a debut - it's particularly good. My problem is that I found Stephen very selfish and beyond the "great sex" couldn't figure out what Reye saw in him. He just didn't show much (IMHO) in the way of an endearing personality toward her. I have to agree with the other reviewers that I liked the way Ms. Robinson handled the whole interacial dating issue amongst the families. Even Stephen's stuck up Momma came around. All in all - a good story.

If I may comment on your comment, I think what Reye saw in him was the fact that he was a good person and partner. Eventhough he tried not to commit to her, he was monogamous and committed to being her friend...albeit with benefits. He could have been out there with other women, partying, spreading his love around, but he was not. He gave her his time, they studied together, etc...I think that says a lot. He fit in with her lifestyle. Just my 2 cents.
