Just a fantastic, well-rounded and informative approach to the "war on drugs." The access the filmmaker got to criminal justice actors and regular citizens alike is incredible. Jarecki gives you an insider's view of the system in all its glory, and all its failures From local police officers, state and federal agents, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, politicians, advocates and social workers, well-established and reputable academic experts and scholars, to "criminals" and their families themselves - no other war on drugs documentary, that I've seen, presents this level of breadth and quality of knowledge on the topic. The film production is great, too; it keeps a good pace, is interesting and entertaining, with good music and photography as well. Again, a fantastic, well-rounded film. Everything a documentary should be.
