Because my sister had let me know of her interest in Liberace, I was pleased to find this rather-inexpensive DVD of him in two holiday specials. Luckily it came unwrapped so I was able to view it before wrapping it up and mailing it to her. I live in Arizona while she lives in Connecticut. When we were growing up in Connecticut our mother paid for piano lessons for us. My sister did very well while I was all thumbs and dropped out. This gives her a better underst4anding of Liberace's skills on the keyboard. I may or may not have watched his shows when they were aiired but was really surprised at his sense of humor and how much fun he had plaing various tunes, even playing Turkey in the Straw while the live turkey they were to dine on sat listening. The flourishes he threw in were just amazing to me who had never succeeded in much other than Chopsticks. My sister did comment on how she didn't appreciate the lack of fancy costumes or the candalabra he would place on his piano in more-current specials. I was totally blown away by his skill both on the piano and connecting with the audience. The fact it was in black and white did not bother me in the least. While I do believe I will purchase a more-expensive disc with the trappings my sister missed out on, at least I had the pleasure of listening to such a superb pianist.
