I will start by saying I am neither a fan nor hater of Miley Cyrus. I was advised by my ten year old daughter, Sierra, not to buy the cd because the only good song will be Wrecking Ball. I bought it anyway because I listened to Wrecking Ball on Vevo and thought it was an awesome song, theatrics aside. I grew up in Madonna's era and I thought Madonna was way cooler when she came slithering on MTV with a wedding dress and singing Like A Virgin, I remember being so blown away! For me, Miley seems like somebody who tries so hard to be provocative and cool and unlike Lady Gaga and Madonna she just doesn't pull it off that well. She will never be up there with the hot black rappers of the world, that is a fact! The album is mostly a skip to the next song and see if it's better type of experience. I am not willing to say Wrecking Ball was the only good song on it but there aren't many stand outs. I have no regrets for buying this cd because I'd have paid the price for Wrecking Ball alone and I practically did. The same day I bought Crash My Party because I'd never heard Luke Byran before and I have played that cd into the ground it's so hot and Miley's is back in my bedroom with the rest of the forgotten cd's. Yeah, I love country but love all types of music and one of my extreme favorites and my sixteen year old son Adrien's is Lorde. Just can't really recommend this if you are expecting explosive hit after hit. And there's too much rapping.
